Chapter 12

It taken long before Julius had come to find me and we were ushered into an office to speak with the king of hell. We walked into the room it was clear that Midas and the King conversation wasn't going the way Midas wanted it.

"Finally the woman of the night is here, my name is Hale its nice to finally meet you." He said as he gestured for me to sit in the seat closet to him. His guards stood behind him with a blank stare on there faces, and there arms crossed behind there backs.

I slowly walked over unsure of really what to do in this situation, but I sat down just wanting to get this all over.

"So I have heard many interesting things about the future queen of Black Pegasus." He stated.

"I would like to know why the king of hell is worried about our clan?" Midas questioned trying to keep his voice even and calm.

"My interest in her is none of your concern I don't answer to you, you see Midas you like many of the clans in the Dark lands are old fashion. That is why I'm here because I have visited many clans making sure the torch is being passed. The West lands, South Lands, East Lands, and North Lands are not as strong as our kingdom but they are growing." He answered in a sharp tone.

"I don't understand there are other kingdoms and cities, and more clans within those kingdoms?" I blurted out without thinking.

Hale looked at me with confusion on his face. "I'm surprised that you don't know this, but then again this clan believe in a woman role being less than that of her king."

"Does that mean that as a queen I don't get equal say in what happens to my clan?" I questioned.

Julius gripped my hand as if to quiet me but I yanked it away I was beyond pissed that this is the way things were.

"Don't get me wrong you do get a say, but your king can veto you at anytime he sees fit unless thing change." Hale explained.

"I never heard of the king caring about the separate rules of a clan, long as they don't go against the rules of the kingdom as a whole." Julius bit out.

"I have been talking with the elders to change this, and than I found out about your queen here." He smiled slightly.

"What does any of this have to do with me?" I asked shock evident in my tone.

"For centuries the claim has been that the female demons are not as powerful as there counterparts. We have had the hell games to determine this and it has always been proven that the males are stronger. With that being a constant factor many refuse to believe that a woman can even run a kingdom without her king. When clans lose there king they are usually attacked, clans drop treaties with them, and the clan suffers greatly. From what I have heard you have a very strong gift, one that could possibly be stronger than your mates." He replied.

"Adlyn will have nothing to do with what you have planned." Julius spat.

"I don't need you or anyone to tell me what I can do." I chimed in.

"Julius and Adlyn are to take the throne in three weeks that is the new time limit. If she decides she wants to come to the kingdom, I will train her myself and let her get her powers under control. That way I can see if she is even powerful or have things been exaggerated."Hale replied and he slowly stood up smoothing out his suit jacket.

"What is wrong with the original time line?" Midas questioned.

"Midas you stepping down has been way overdue I expect you to make the announcement after this. You pushing it back constantly makes many think you don't have faith in the future king of your clan. It was a year ago you announced you would step down, and now its time." He answered he stood up and his guards moved swiftly and opened the doors. Midas handed me a black card with gray writing engraved on it that said the king do the underworld, and just like that he left without another word.

The room was silent for awhile and than Midas slammed his fist on the coffee table in the middle of the room. "I have to go make the announcement." He walked out of the room as well leaving Julius and I alone.

"You shouldn't listen to him the way he say it makes it seem worst than it is. As you can see my mother has plenty of say within our clan." Julius said breaking the silence.

"Has she ever made any law in the entire time she has been queen?'" I questioned.

"She has supported my father and always spoken her mind when she didn't agree on something." He answered.

"That isn't the same thing is it, anyone can give advice or state there own opinion. The real question here; is her presence even in this clan? Will she be remember for being anything other than your then Midas queen?" I replied.

"May mother is a wonderful woman who has done amazing things for the beings in this city of course they will remember her." He said clenching his fist and abruptly standing.

"I'm not trying to offend you I'm just asking a real question, and I deserve a real answer. When you asked me to be your queen I thought that meant being your partner too." I responded.

"This isn't the time for this we should get back to the gala." Julius stated holding at his hand to me.

I looked at his hand and than walked passed him and out the doors, and all I could think about was Daya's words from before.
