Two weeks later ...

I sat at the large wooden dark chestnut desk and I scanned over the stack of files that I still had to go through. Things had finally settled down a little bit around here but things the elders were still worried. Adlyn had still not woken up and even though we caught Edison we still couldn't get answers.

It was an all night manhunt and Edison was caught right at the borderline and Yuri had to be the one to finish him off. He had fought to his last dying breath injuring some of our guards in the process. The whole thing didn't look good because even though Edison was my knight, my father was still king when all this went down.

The elders spent days at the kingdom pulling my father and I into meeting and stick close to see if Adlyn would wake up. They decided that I was to take the throne alone until we find out more about Adlyn. But the bigger issue was that it was spreading around that there wasn't strong enough security in our city. It wasn't a good thing and we had non- stop double patrols to fend off the stupid rogues trying to find a way in.

We we had to get the beings in this city to believe in me and believe that they were truly protected and they could have faith in there new king. I had been to the hospital a few times but lately I had found it harder to get around there and I felt like shit. The big plan now was to do as many things as we could to prove that the city is forever going to continue to grow.

I had been looking over floor plans and trying to find the write locations that we needed to build our new academy. I wanted to do things my father had not tried to do and make better decisions for my city. My father and mother had officially move out of the kingdom and move to there huge mansion deep in the hills. My father was still holding out hope to become an elder one day so he still tried to stick his nose into everything I was doing.

It still felt weird walking through the kingdom and knowing that it was all mines now and would be for a long time. I had been given a little more time to find a knight but the elders weren't planning to wait to much longer. I stood up from my chair trying to clear my head I had been at this all day and I couldn't seem to focus. I stretched and walked over to my bar and filled up a glass with some vodka and walked over to my huge window that face out to the city.

It had so many plans to set into motion and I was so excited that I was finally in the position to do something. My father had urged me to find another queen but as stubborn as Adlyn was I still cared for her. The elders didn't agree with my farther on rushing to find a new queen for now and I hope they wouldn't change there mines.

Once Adlyn woke up she would have her hands full redoing the entire kingdom decor and filling it with furniture. My parents had taken all of there things accept sculptures, statues, painting, and certain mementos that were meant to stay in the kingdom. They were things that were left behind by each king and queen you ever sat on the throne and it was amazing to see. I hadn't seen Phaedra since everything happened we text back and forth but that was it. I felt even more guilty to be with her when Adlyn was in a coma because of someone I trusted. But at the same time Phaedra was everything that I wanted in my queen and in my wife and I couldn't help feeling that way. With all the stress and bullshit that comes with being a king I didn't need to have a non-stop tug of war with my queen. It wouldn't look good and it would just add to all the shit I had on my plate. I did believe that she would come around and maybe a little sleep would help, I just hope she woke up soon.
