We stood in the large forest that surrounded the park, a large walking path that many families would use to hike and picnic in. I had never been here at night and I had to admit it looked eerie, the soft lighting of the old fashioned street lamps and the dark areas surround us. It was like a scene straight out of a horror film but the funny thing was I was standing here with a demon.

“Are you sure about this?” Julius questioned.

“Seriously I don’t have many options I can’t run because of those black soldiers you told me about and even if I did I couldn’t live myself.” I admitted.

“You have a temper but you are also good hearted.” He replied.

“Yeah I guess I’m not as cruel as the people that raised me.” I bit out.

“I know this hard for you but, you told me your parents were good to you all your life all of that couldn’t be a lie. But you do have to face the facts that everyone has flaws it seems your parents have a big one it’s there selfishness. Be glad that you did acquire that trait.” He responded.

I hadn’t looked at it that way but he was right no one was perfect, they had done a fucked up thing that was true.

“I know it’s just going to take time to wrap my head around it.” I stated.

Julius turned to me and didn’t say anything for a second he just stared at me and in the dark his green eyes seemed too glowed brightly.

“I when I came here I was not happy about it, my father and I don’t see eye to eye and I didn’t think we would agree on my mate. Now that I’m here I’m glad that I did come and meet you everything happens for a reason, it seems fate put us together. That blood red hair of yours and those bright blue eyes that are brighter than any ocean I have ever laid my eyes upon, you are definitely unique.” He spoke each word never losing eye contact.

“The demon world is unlike anything and it’s not as crazy as stories or television has made it seem but its still is dangerous. You have great strength and you will need it you don’t want anyone to think that there future queen is weak.” He added.

My eyes went wide at his words. “What the hell do you mean future queen?”

He smiled slightly and I hated that I was starting to like that crooked smile of his. “I’m prince of the demon clan Black Pegasus. My father Midas is the king and one day the clan will be mines but when he sees fit of course.”

“Okay my head is spinning more now than it was when you did that damn thing that you keep doing.” I mumbled.

“What are you talking about teleporting?” He chuckled.

His laugh was infectious and I couldn’t help but smile I could see he was trying hard to help me ease into everything. When I first met him I thought he was gorgeous and a big jerk but the more I was getting to know him I could see he had a sweet side.

“Oh yeah that.” I said rolling my eyes.

“Believe me you will get used to it after awhile all these things won’t be easy at first but you will get used to it. Taking back in your soul is painful but I will be with you every step of the way and once you do you will be a newborn demon.” He said.

“This is a fresh start for you and you can either bring all the bullshit with you or you can use this as a way to keep you moving. So your parents made themselves feel better by saying that you never really needed them you have always been strong. It’s true you are strong and maybe they were right but I will be with you if you want it, once you step through there is no turning back.” He said.
