Was this the end or just the beginning of a new end?

Devon

Two weeks had passed since Evanly and I fixed things between us and everything was going blissfully. Today we decided to stay over at Danzel's place because Luciano's birthday was just the following day. We were planning a big party for her. Evenly was still staying at her apartment, even though I wanted her to move back into my mansion  with me.

Later that night I decided to head downstairs into the kitchen in need of water. As I made my way there, I didn't bother to turn the lights on. The house was as quiet as a mouse, not a single sound. I entered the dimley lit kitchen and my eyes quickly fell on Danzel who leaned casually against the counter table, drinking what looked to be a cold, glass of whiskey.

"Isn't it too early to be celebrating?", I commented, making my way to the fridge.

"It's never too early.", he gently placed the glass on the table. He sounded calm, too calm.

"Are you good?", I asked, slowly grabbing the water bottle from the fridge.

"dobbiamo parlare.", he cleared his throat. The room suddenly fell dead silent. I made my way towards him, cautiously, also trying to figure out what he could possibly want to talk about.

"About?", I opened my water bottle, taking a long sip.

"Evanly, you and your stupid obsessive, manipulative ways. Devon, be honest with me, what is it that you want from Evenly this time?", his eyes pierced through me like a knife. What was he talking about?

"What? What do you mean by that?", I asked. "Look, if this is about the bet, she knows the whole truth, I know that she may not fully forgive me yet and I've came to terms with that.", I explained myself.

"That is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about you and your obsession towards her, I'm talking about your manipulative ways, your nature of lying, Devon. Are you ever going to tell her the real truth about your little obsessive ways?", he turned to me, his eyes filled with anger. My heart dropped to my stomach.

"Danzel, can we not talk about this. I know what I did was wrong and I stopped, alright!", I angrily turned to him.

"It's not about stopping Devon, this is about you hurting Evanly over and over again for your own benefit! Will you ever tell her?", he slammed his fist against the table. Danzel's question caught me off guard. Was I really going reveal everything to her?

No. Not everything.

"What's it to you? Huh? Why do you care so much?", then it all clicked to me. Danzel was trying to act like a hero because his stupid little heart is still hung up on Evanly. I let a bitter laugh. "Oh, now I get it, you're doing this not because you're trying to protect her but because you still have feelings for her, don't you? You can't stand to see her with me, can you?"

Danzel shoved me back and stood angrily glaring at me.

"Fuck off Devon! Why can't you be normal for once? At least for her? Just man up and tell her the truth, tell her the real reason why everything in her life fell apart, tell her that you're responsible for causing her so much pain all for your satisfaction and sadistic ways. Tell her how fucking pathetic you are!", Danzel growled at me like an animal ready to devour.
