💣 MAVROS 💣
I woke up to the sound of ma banging around in the kitchen. I brushed my teeth and dressed in athletic gear to work out. I stepped into the weight room to find the trio and Verity stretching.
"Morning Mav," all four echoed one after the other.
I nodded before turning on bluetooth and slipped in my earbuds. As I stepped over to join them, Verity smiled at me but walked past her.
"Ooh?" I heard Verity murmur as I took the spit next to Dav.
As I started stretching, I could feel Dav's glare, but ignored it as I couldn't explain with Verity in the room. Out of the corner of my eye, the four of them stopped and stepped onto the treadmills. After I finished, I chose the treadmill beside R and selected the incline. As I was deciding on speed, I felt eyes on me and glanced to my right. R locked eyes with me, then flicked his head upward, and I chose to ignore it. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched him exchange puzzled glances and shrugs with the others. I shook my my body and focused on running a mile. After the mile, I quenched my thirst and began lifting weights. As I lifted, I watched the others work but would immediately glance away if they looked my way. It was hard not to watch Verity as her athletic shorts really conformed to her big peach. After forty minutes, Verity did a cool down and grabbed her water bottle.
"See ya at breakfast," she made a peace sign before heading out.
"Save me some orange juice!"
"Sausage!"
"And gravy!"
"I'll try, can't promise you anything," she chuckled and waved as she left.
As soon as the door clicked closed, the trio hurriedly gathered around me at the bench press. I sat up and swiveled my eyes at each of their cold expressions.
"What?" I moodily crossed my arms.
"What's with you?"
"Why'd you avoid Verity?"
"What'd you do, Mav?"
They mirrored my actions as they each lowered their heads closer to mine. I had chosen not to stay calm until Dav asked what I'd done to Verity. I mood and body snapped furiously, and I scowled up at Dav. How dare my own friend/bro convict me over a girl he'd accepted a week ago.
"Cause that's fair. Place the blame on your bro instead of taking the time to think whether Verity is in the wrong."
"Dude, with a ma and sis, haven't you learned you'll always be wrong?" Jess shook his head in exasperation.
"To hell with that, I could be the innocent party this time." I indignantly fired back.
"You're obviously not, or Ver would've asked you if you wanted her to save you anything."
"So what'd you do?"
"Or say?"
"Ughh, fine. I told her about having Dav add my initial to her tattoo," I lowered my head in embarrassment.
