After hanging up on Ver, I jogged from the payphone to my Viper V8. I was afraid of being outside, but Ver's family won't hack a payphone.
"Is it done?" My older sister Mandy asked once I shut the car door.
"Yeah. I mean I'll have to wait half an hour before it's safe to show my face in public."
"So we can hit the road, now?" Her eyes lit up brightly.
"If you wan," I nodded and twisted the key in my baby.
"You sure you want to head to Nevada?" I asked as I drove from the stand alone gass station.
"What reason do I have to go there?"
"Axton, Garren, and I don't know Reese and Leesa." I spoke sarcastically to get her to respond.
"I've no right...for now." She quietly commented as she stared out the window.
"I understand, and I think that's the right decision. But I understand if it's painful for you." I patted her leg in comfort.
"Thanks."
"No problem, Man."
"Urgh, I hate that nickname!" She pretended to scoff and shoved my shoulder.
"Hey, easy. I'm drivin'."
"Then don't call me Man."
"Why? It suits you."
"It's uglyyy," she whined.
"You name is a nickname of a name, what else am I supposed to shorten it to?"
"How about Dee?"
"Dee?"
"It's the last two letters of Mandy."
"Fine, fine. Whatever the Dee-Dee wants."
"Goo-. Hey! Dee. Not Dee-Dee!" She spread her arm towards me.
"Hey, hey! You wanna crash and end up in the ICU?"
"Noooo."
"Good, now let me drive in peace."
"Only if you'll stop calling me Dee-Dee."
"Alright, I will....for now."
"RIGGERRRR."
I grinned as I pressed on the gas and turned uo the radio to drown Mandy's screeching.

"I wish." J responded in a dejected tone.
