🥾AXTON🥾
"Babe, which color do you think she'd like? This green or this blue?" Herc held up fruit cocktail and ocean cavern swatches.
Basically, lime, the (fruit) colored green and the middle of blues type of blue. Neither of us took Ver for a pink or purple lover, so these were our best guesses.
"I could see liking the green one. But does she like it enough for it to be her room color?" I tilted my head in thought while Herc gave a shrug.
"What about black? That could be a safe option." Herc commented as he grabbed a black sample strip.
"Hmm. You know what, why don't I text Mav. I haven't rubbed it in enough that we're stealin' his girl."
"Alright, just don't go overboard. Our guy's probably in mourning right now."
"Okay, I'll just bring up the tattoo situation, then."
"Any guy with a brain can guess it didn't go over well. I think I'll text him in stead. Hell, I don't know how you've stayed friends for so long." Herc grabbed my phone and started texting.
"He's the one who joked about hearing Mandy com-."
"
-Plain about your bedroom skills. I know. But he told you he was kidding."
"A YEAR AFTER SHE DISAPPEARED." I raised my voice by a decimal.
"Shh. Shh. You gotta let that go. Honestly, I don't know why you're holding such a strong grudge. If your bedroom skills were lacking, I'd be complaining, but I don't."
"It's not that I believe him. It's that it still hurts that as my buddy, he'd say that."
"I get it. But you need to work it out, not be petty every chance you get. You kno-."
( ( RRRR ) ) ( ( RRRR ) ) ( ( RRRR ) )
"Oh, he texted."
"What'd he say?"
"Ask Dav and middle finger emoji."
"What a dick, send him one."
"No."
I stuck my tongue at him and turned my back to him to sulk in front of the paint cards. I hate it when Herc is right and encouraged me to be the bigger person. I just didn't get how I was always getting scolded by him when Mav started the mess.
"Ax? Dav said to go with cherry red and black accent pieces."
"Dav.. Said that?"
"He said that Ver's best friend said it."
"What are accent pieces?" I asked as I looked for a match to cherry red.
"It means furniture, bedding, and decorations."
"Okay then. Does this look like cherry red?" I held up a card with a medium red listed as "hello daddy...hello mom."
