"Where are you going, mija?" My uncle suddenly stopped and whirled around and I stumbled to a stop.
"Going inside with you."
"No. A police station is no place for a lady. Wait in the car."
"Yes, Tio."
After my uncle went inside instead of waiting in the car, I sat on the hood of my car. Today marked the third day since my dad and brother's lockup. Two days ago when I brought my uncle to post bail. My uncle received a call from the police, to inform us they'd be holding my relatives for two additional days. As it was a Friday it made sense, however, I'd have to think of a plausible excuse for my mom. After lunch, my uncle and I parted and I went home. As soon as I'd entered the house my mom appeared and bombarded me with questions. I told her I'd had lunch with Tio, Dad, and the boys, as they were going on a two-day business trip. Just as I thought she didn't fully believe me until after she called my Tio. After the call, she didn't question me anymore and I was able to breathe comfortably.
To pass the time, I took out my phone to play a game while I waited for my family. However, after fifteen minutes I was sweating under the sweltering sun. So I got in my car and blasted the A/C. I continued playing my game for five minutes before checking on the entrance. Tio opened the doors, revealing my dad and brothers except for Emilio. At this five-foot distance, I could see how drained and grungy they were. I honestly felt itchy looking at them, but I forced myself forward to greet them. After all, I'm responsible for their jail-cation.
"Papá! Carlos! Hector!" I tentatively jogged forward, as I wasn't sure if they held a grudge.
I skidded to a stop at a foot away to gauge their tempers. After a long moment of stony staring their mouths spread into grins. The four of them stepped forward and hugged me tightly. After they released me, I felt a tear trickling down my cheek.
"Por qué lloras cariño?" My dad asked as he wiped the tear away.
(Why are you crying, sweetheart)
"Pensé que estarías enojado conmigo." My mouth trembled as I looked at each of my relatives.
(I thought you'd be angry with me)
"Awww cariño. No fue culpa tuya."
(Aww sweetie. It's not your fault we were arrested)
"Pero si no te lo hubiera dich-."
(But if I hadn't told yo-)
"Basta. Qué te hemos enseñado tu mamá y yo?"
(Stop it. What have your mom and I taught you)
"Para ayuda cuando la necesitamos."
"Para ayuda cuando lo necesitamos." My brothers voices echoed my answer.
(To ask for help when we need it)
"Bueno. Importante, es lo que le dijiste a tu madre?"
(Good. What's important is what you told your mother)
"Le dije que ustedes hicieron un breve viaje de negocios."
(I told her you guys went on a short business trip)
"Buen pensamiento. Y ella lo compro?"
(Good thinking. And she bought it?"
"Junto con las tortillas y las verduras."
(Along with the tortillas and vegetables)
"Bueno." He smiled and gently patted my head.
(Good)
"Ahora eso está resuelto, vamos a la casa del tio." Dad spoke as he turned to Tio, who nodded.
(Now that's settled let's go to uncle's house)
"Pero no deberíamos irnos a casa inmediatamente?" Carlos disagreed.
(But shouldn't we go home right away)
"Para que no sospeche?" Hector added.
(So she won't get suspicious)
"Créeme que no lo es. Pero lo hará si te presentas luciendo como lo haces." My uncle replied.
(Trust me, she isn't. But she will if you show up looking like you do)
My two brothers shrugged in indifference and I rolled my eyes at their stupidity.
"Pareces una mierda metida en el microondas." I jutted my hip out as I motioned towards the three of them.
(Translation, you look like shit microwaved)
"Sobrina!" My uncle sternly called me.
(Niece)
"Lo siento, tio." I bashfully hung my head.
(Sorry, uncle)
"Gracias por esperarnos cariño. Adelante, vete a casa ahora." My dad ran his hand over my hair to comfort me.
(Thank you for waiting for us, sweetie. Go ahead and go home now)
"Por qué?"
(Why)
"Parecerá sospechoso si nos llevas a casa." My dad explained and I nodded.
(It'll look suspicious if you drive us home)
"Ok, nos vemos en casa." I waved to them before walking to my car.
(Okay, see you at home)
I'd honestly hadn't intended to follow my relatives as I had an appointment with the Skull Reapers prez, Rigger Jones. To get his number I'd had to pay my cousin quite a bit to hack the Idaho police departments to get his number. After texting him, explaining I had info on Verity he agreed to a video call. I was overjoyed after we agreed to a set time. As I was one step closer to creating an alliance with him against that Verity bitch. I'm confident he'll agree as she's the one who burned his club down.

FORTY MINUTES LATER....
I parked at my cousin's apartment complex and connected to her wifi hotspot. I unbuckled and placed my phone on the magnetic holder attached to the vent. I looked in the rearview mirror to check my makeup and hair. Once I looked presentable, I selected to video call Jones. The phone "bringed" three times before my call was answered by the sexily rugged guy.
"Hello. Rosalinda, right?"
My heart skipped a beat at the deep gravelly voice that greeted me. Combined with his looks I wondered how Verity could walk away from such a man.
Her loss, chica. Doesn't your heart still belong to Hercules? I giggled in my head forgetting I was currently on a call with the hunk.
"Hello? I said hello."
"If you're not going to say anything I'm hanging up."
"You're wasting my time."
I jerked myself out of my daydream and shot him a seductive smile.
"Hiya, handsome."
