Cecilia's POV
Chase Rider.
The ex-racer Chase Rider is in our garage.
What is he doing here?
He looked around the garage, standing at the impressive height of 6'4. I'm tiny compared to him with my height of 5'5, he's even taller than Caleb and dad. He ran a hand through his thick chocolate brown hair as his piercing green eyes found my blue ones.
A thousand questions crossed my mind as he approached me. He didn't see dad yet as he was now under the old beat up pick up truck he was fixing. Dad probably thought that it was only another customer when Chase rolled in with his car.
Chase smiled and held his hand out for a hand shake which I took and shook firmly. Dad thought me to be straight forward when conducting business.
"Hey, I'm Chase Rider." he said as he shook my hand.
"Cecilia Adams." I said giving him a questioning look.
Suddenly, I heard a groan come from behind me.
We both looked over to the source of the groan which was Caleb still holding his head in pain, but now finished his cup of coffee. How surprising. Note the sarcasm.
"And the hungover idiot is my older brother, Caleb." I told Chase. "Caleb, This is Chase Rider."
"Sup man" Caleb mumbled, too hungover to notice that it's the Chase Rider that is standing in our garage.
"Chase, how can I help you?" I ask turning my attention to Chase.
"I'm looking for the owner of this establishment." He said, getting down to business.
"One second, DAD!!!" I shout getting dad's attention and most likely giving him a heart attack.
Now that I think about it, how did dad not here me talking to Chase? He must be going deaf.. it probably comes with old age.
Dad slid out from beneath the old pick up truck and gave Chase the same questioning look I did. It must run in the family.
"I would be the owner, son. How can I be of your service?" dad asks.
Chase nervously looks at my father as he runs a hand through his soft looking hair. He must do that a lot when he's nervous.
I never dared imagine the big bad egoistical ex-racer, Chase Rider nervous. But he is human and humans have emotions.
Thanks Captain Obvious.
Great, now I'm talking to myself.
"I'm inquiring about a position as a full time mechanic." Chase answered to my amazement.
Why would the Chase Rider, one of the best racers I know want to work in a garage in our small town?
"Why do you want this job? I mean your Chase Rider!" dad asked the same question I had in mind.
"After my accident, I'm not sure if I can get back on track any more. I'm not scared, I just had enough of the spotlight that I was in since I was 18. I want a fresh start and I think this town will have everything I need for it." he said, now looking at me with interest.
Now I'm even more confused.
"Look son, I could give you this job because I know you have the skills for it but I wouldn't be able to pay you for a while due to financial difficulties." dad said with a sad look in his eyes.
