As the sun sets, the lights in the pool flicker on. I sit down on the edge and put my feet in, not bothering to roll up my pants.
This is the first time I have been to the pool since the renovations.
The trees surrounding the pool sway in the wind.
I left Harris with no answer, of course.
My head pounds from all of this madness. Love should not be this complicated, should it?
Someone sits down next to me, dipping there feet in the pool.
I look up and stare straight into Kane's eyes.
"What happened in there?" He ask searching my face for an answer.
"Nothing." The minute I say that, I can even tell I'm not telling the truth.
"Okay." Is all he says.
Why am I hiding what happened in there?
"Actually-" but before I can say anything else Kane leans in and kisses me.
It lasted just a second but felt like a minute. Slowly he pulls away and I stare at his lips.
"Um. Sorry I just been having this feeling and," Kane talks on but all I heard is a buzz.
When Harris would kiss me I would feel fireworks erupt in my stomach and tingles shoot down my arms and legs.
When Kane kissed me I felt nothing.
"I have to go." I abruptly say standing up.
I run back in to the palace and in to my room and find Harris sitting on my bed.
When he hears me come in he sits up, "oh Maple I was-"
"Harris its okay. I need to tell you something. I do forgive you I love you and I am sorry. I miss you much to be mad anyone. Harris I messed up. Kane he kissed me and I realized I need you."
By now I am crying, because I am afraid he won't take me back.
Harris walks up to me and kisses me sending the familiar tingle down my arms and legs.
"Don't ever do that again." I whisper grinning, remembering the day in the tree.
"Kiss you?" He smiles.
"No fight like this."
"It's depends..." He trails off.
I laugh and punch him in the shoulder.
"Of course." He answers.
Finally my life is back in place.
