Harris POV

The moment I heard Maple screaming my name I new the rebels got to her.

I repeatedly bang my head against the wall. What in the world is wrong with me? A voice in the back of my head a voice told me to let her go only. Not me. Something is messed up with my head. I could have just cut another bar off so I could fit through too.

Quickly I pat down my pockets looking for the mini saw .

My heart sinks down to my feet.

It's gone.

"MAPLE!" I yell with fear.

I lost her.

The first time I saw her in the hallway with sweat pants and a t-shirt was the first time I realized her beauty. Not with the makeup or dresses. No hair spray or perfume.

Just a French braid and the aroma of oranges.

"MAPLE!"

man do I love oranges.

And her eyes. Every time I would look into them I would get lost in side. At times I was afraid I would never be able to get out.

"MAPLE!"

And that her hair.

Orange layers cascading down her shoulders, never seeming to bother about the way it looks.

I gather all the anger that has been building inside me for the past years and let it travel through my hands and too the bars.

A second later a cell bar clatters to the ground.

I hop through the bars, scraping my shoulder, and take off down the hallway.

Blood trails the hallway, but not hers.

Hopefully.

I get so caught up in my mind I don't feel the sharp pain in the bottom of my foot until blood seeps through my shoe.

Keys.

The keys.

"Maple?" I whisper.

I hear a faint whimper coming from a door to my right. I glance around checking for rebels. The coast seems clear, so I gentle shake the nob.

Locked.

What if Maple is bleeding to death in there? Again, I gather up all my strength and shove open the door.

It swings open sending me flying on the floor. The door bounces off the wall and slams shut.

The only light in the room is coming from a emergency light located in the corner of the room about the size of my fist. Shadows fill the vast empty room making it hard to see but not that much to keep my from seeing Maple propped up against the wall gagged with her eyes closed.

For a terrifying moment I think she is dead, but then her chest beats along with her breath making me relax.

I stare at her imaging what it would be like if we would run away.

Then Maple cries out snapping me back to reality.

I run over to her side. Maples eyes snap open. Her chest bouncing up and down from the nightmare.

I rip of her gag letting her scream my name.

I rap her in a hug. She lays her forehead in the space between my shoulder and neck.

Once she calms down I lift her head up so I can she the wonderful eyes of hers.

"Everything will be ok."

Tears form in her eyes.

Repeatedly she shakes her head.

"Harris, Southerns coming."

Then the door swings open and Southern comes marching in his face red from anger.
