We are in the dinning room, that is for sure, because of the flipped over dinning table.
But it's what is on the wall that surprises me.
The wall it cover in drawing of different rooms of the palace... wait...
My mouth drops open.
"You are going to fix the palace." I say more in a statement than a question.
Harris smiles looking at the wall.
"Once everyone was asleep I figured I would look for your parents or Canie that maid that I think Grant likes," He raises an eyebrow and continues "Anyway, I found some of my pencils I brought with me scattered on the hallway floor and then an idea came to me. When we find your parents and the war is over maybe, if I am the One, we can renovate the palace."
He points to the walls "This one is suppose to be the garden but if you don't like-"
I stop him mid sentence by hugging him.
"Yes. It's all perfect. I couldn't ask for anything else."
"See he is the One." A voice says.
Harris and I turn to see Grant standing in the doorway.
I blush "hey Grant."
"Hello Princess." Grant says then walks over to us with someone else trailing behind him...
"Canie!" I yell running up to her and giving her the biggest hug.
"Maple! Oh my goodness. Your okay." Canie says.
I pull away and examine her. Her maid outfit is tattered and streaked with blood but it looks like the blood isn't hers.
"Are you okay?"
She shrugs " I don't really remember that much but I killed the rest of the rebels."
"Do you know where my parents are?" I whisper.
Harris and Grant join our reunion.
"Canie woke up with a note in her hand. Apparently she was knocked out when the palace was bombed and couldn't find anyone else." Grant says.
Canie takes a piece of paper out of his pocket.
She hands it to me and I unfold it with shaky hands.Canie give this to Maple when you see her.
Maple we are okay. Don't worry. To find us just follow the Northern star.I hand the paper to Harris for him to read.
"It could be my parents." I say
"Or it could be a trap." Grant adds.
"But the Northern star means the rebels and Harris you were working for them so that means our parents are friends with them, right?" I ask.
Harris runs a hand through his hair.
"Yah but we have more than one base. They could be at anyone."
Great.
Canie lest out a breathe "well why don't we talk more in the morning when everyone else is awake?"
We all nod in agreement.
Grant and Canie leave, leaving me and Harris.
"Why don't you go back and I will meet you there." Harris says facing the wall.
"Okay." I say.
I leave the dinning room and head back to my room but stop by the doors leading to the garden.
I open the doors and welcome in the chilly air.
Quietly I slip out and head over to the bench where my mom said she first meet my dad.
I collapse on it and bawl my eyes out.
I never asked for this.
I never wanted this to happen.
But it did. And it sucks.
My parents gone. My house gone. These poor boys are trapped here. Their parents worried sick.
They probably all hate me for this.
I can't believe Harris loves me.
And those stupid rebels.
Why do they hate us so much?
After 20 minutes my years come to a stop and I fall asleep underneath the bench."Maple."
I snap my eyes open and see Harris sitting down in front of me with a worried expression.
For a second I am confused where I am then see flowers and remember I am in the garden.
"Huh?"
"I contacted the Northern rebels and asked about your parents. They said that your parents were at one of the bases closet to us."
I feel my heart fly up with happiness but then drop.
"Were?"
He takes a breath.
"They are missing from the base. They can't find them anywhere."A/n
