EDITED.

(Zeke's POV):

It has been about three weeks since Avery and I found each other, and we've found ourselves getting into a routine of sorts. Spending the night at one another's houses, going to school, me walking her to classes, having gym and lunch together, me walking her to her last classes, repeat.

But we've gotten to know each other much better over the time we've spent together. However, I still haven't worked up the willpower to tell her of my past, or ask her what she's hiding something about her past also. It would break my heart if she told me her past was similar to mine, but then again, neither of us could really be mad at one another.

The rogue issue is becoming slightly out of hand, and I've had to leave Avery during some nights to run them off.

It's a Thursday night, and I'm praying that the rogues will stay at ease this evening, so I can relax with my mate.

Avery and I lay together on the bed, watching some old cartoons. I must admit, the old episodes of Spongebob are pretty great. There's no denying that. Spongebob isn't exactly the most romantic thing, but we both seem to be enjoying ourselves watching them.

We lay close beside each other, on top of the feathery light purple comforter of Avery's bed. The walls surrounding us are a creamy light gray, and corner shelves hold stacks of books. On some of the other shelves, there are decorative boxes, which likely hold keepsakes. Her closet is to the left side across her bed, with white curtains concealing her clothing. The television is mounted on the wall across the bed, and a rack of movies sits on the ground beside it.

I glance over to Avery, and she holds back a giggle as something happens on the television. She can feel my stare and turns towards me. There are just inches between the two of us, and I so badly desire a taste of her rosy pink lips. Her skin yearns for my touch, and her white hair begs me to run a hand through it. Things seem to be moving at an appropriate pace for the two of us, especially considering we are wolves and soul mates to one another.

The space between us closes, and our lips brush against one another. I close the remaining gap, and our lips are connected in a flurry of passion. My wolf howls with happiness, the trust that has built between us. Maybe I won't have to tell Avery of my old ways. Maybe it would be for the best if I didn't. I couldn't stand to break her heart because the feelings between us are starting to get much stronger.

I am starting to feel as though I love her.

It feels too soon, but every time I see her, my heart swoons. I hate the time we are separated, and it seems as though she already has me wrapped around her finger.

I deepen the kiss, and Avery releases a soft sigh. Her hands move to my back, and I break the kiss so we can breathe. I move to her exposed neck and plant small feathery kisses on her creamy skin.

Suddenly, I can feel my wolf pushing for control. He wants to see Avery. She has more trust for him now, but still fears what he may do. I decide to give him a chance and let him have control of my body.

My emerald eyes turn as black as my hair, and Avery notices the shift after feeling the alter in my demeanor.

She looks somewhat fearful, but the look in her eyes subsides as she brushes a hand across my face.

"Avery," my wolf purrs out, leaning into her touch. "May we mark you?" He cups my hand over hers, and Avery watches carefully as he does so.

My wolf never talked this over with me, but I wouldn't mind marking her now either.

I can hear Avery's heart race when she understands what he's saying. For me to mark her would make her known as mine, and the bond between us would strengthen even more. There would be a tattoo like marking on her neck, where my name would be seen. All would know to keep their hands off of the alpha's property, but it would be a big step in our relationship and the mating process in general.
