EDITED.

(Zeke's POV):

My fists are clenched on the steering wheel of my truck as I drive down the smooth paved road to Avery's house. My knuckles are white because of how tightly I grip the wheel. This whole rogue situation is frustrating me more than I'd like to admit. I'm getting quite annoyed that my trackers aren't able to find their camp, and the scent masking has been so skilled that it almost seems like a trained spy is the one on our land, rather than rogues. However, the many outsider wolves have been spotted, but they always seem to slip away before they can be caught for interrogation. The fact that my pack could be in danger in addition to Avery makes me feel bitter.

How dare some rogue group come to my land? Shouldn't they know better?

I've even been thinking we should ask or help from alpha Garret, who leads a nearby pack. But that would come off as weak. We need to control the issue ourselves.

I hit a pothole and feel jostled under my seat belt. My attention is brought back to the road, and I find we're nearly to Avery's house. After making a turn, I pull my truck into Avery's smoothly paved driveway.

We turn towards on another, giving each other a short peck on the lips.

"I'll see you later Zeke," Avery says, then presenting a sweet smile. It makes my stomach flip when she does that.

She opens the truck door, jumping out of the vehicle with her bags in hand. Before closing the door, she asks in a louder voice, "Do you want to sleep over at my place tonight?"

"Sure," I smile and she slams closed the truck door.

"I'll see you then, she shouts, waving goodbye to me as I put the truck in reverse.

Upon arriving at the pack house, things seem chaotic. Mothers run around the yard, gathering the children inside. The sound of chatter coming from inside fills my ears.

I make my way up to the porch of the large building, which is hidden in the woods just as my house is.

The pack house is colossal. Three floors are living quarters for pack members. Although it's not required that pack members live in the house, most do. The pack environment is much more tolerable for a werewolf than living in the suburbs, and having the open land to run in wolf form is always nice for wolves. The bottom two floors are mainly kitchens, dining rooms, play and gaming rooms, study rooms, and TV rooms. The list goes on, and it's quite a maze to find where you want to be in the house. The very top floor, being the sixth floor, is the alpha, beta, and third command living quarters. I prefer living in the alpha house, but Mac and Jacob live on the sixth floor of the pack house.

Despite the height of the building, it can't be seen from the main road. The pine trees provide coverage, so from the road, it just looks like a driveway to any random house. Without the protection of the pines, curious eyes from those passing by would always be staring. Suspicion would rise, and on top of everything with the rogues going on, it would be overwhelming.

The chatter starts to slow down as I enter the pack house. The area around the doorway is very open, and allows most of the members to see me as they huddle in a large crowd in the living rooms surrounding the doorway. I move to the side of the doorway to allow access to the mothers and children still making their way in.

I stand with my arms folded, observing the people surrounding me. Mac and Jacob push their way up to the front of the room, and stand beside me. The once loud chatter subsides, and only a few whispers can be heard as the members stare intently at me.
