"If I may respectfully disagree, I think you are making a big mistake in not joining the new Guardians of the Globe, Mr. Grayson," Robot said in his usual analytical voice. "In the wake of the demise of the prior Guardians, our planet is in dire need of protectors."
"Look, I'll think about it, okay?" Mark said. "Just let me talk to my dad first."
"Your father's opinion will be ridden with bias, seeing as he has actively refrained from joining the Guardians of the Globe for some time now," Robot replied.
Mark paused before he replied. "I'm sure my dad will hear me out. I have to go now. Thanks for everything today Robot."
"You are most welcome, Invincible."
As Invincible departed the GDA facility, Omni Man continued to glare down from the balcony at the feeble assortment of heroes that had somehow managed to barely through the tryouts for the new Guardians of the Globe. He'd already killed the original team in less than ten minutes. And Cecil somehow thought these fledgling candidates would protect Earth from the Viltrum Empire?
"Pathetic," Omni Man scoffed as he folded his arms across his chest.
Much to Omni Man's approval, his son had not joined the new Guardians. Meaning Mark would be a more suitable candidate for Viltrum's takeover once the empire's forces arrived.
Glancing at the clock, Omni Man saw that he'd been here longer than he'd planned, and made his way to the door. He'd fully recovered from the battle, as he always did. Now, he had business to attend to.
First, he had to return to Debbie and let her know that he would be returning to Japan.
Then, he had to go back to Ryouku Miyazono and check in on Kaori.
Mark's training was progressing well so far, and Cecil would keep him on a leash.
But Kaori's training had not even begun, for the stupid little human matters of tests and school still occupied their time. So Omni Man would remedy that, and begin teaching his daughter about her Viltrumite heritage.
And then, he would take care of the softhearted weakling.
Kousei Arima.
.......................................
Kousei couldn't help but allow the smile plastered all over his face to stay there. After all, The Summer Nights by Hector Berlioz was quite a selection! Most of the music was fast-paced, jubilant, and bursting at the seams with joy. Which fit Kousei's everyday mood perfectly.
He thought the world had taken on more color after meeting Kaori before. But after her triumph over death?
All he saw was color.
Every shade. Every tone. Every gentle touch of orange, yellow, and blue. The gardens were especially beautiful this time of year. Eighth grade year was over, and summer was on the way. He'd be going to a good music school soon, with Kaori at his side. And they'd be able to play music together every day and every night.
Kousei chuckled to himself. Well, maybe not every day and night. Kaori's personality was still very fiery after all.
"You're doing it again, Kousei," a voice teased from behind.
Kousei sighed. And here was Hiroko again, ready to tease him every time she caught him daydreaming about his girlfriend.
"Yes, Hiroko, you got me. Ha ha ha."
Hiroko snickered. "You're the one who makes it very obvious."
"Yeah! Youw the one who makes it obwious!" Koharu's little voice backed up her mother.
