When squad comes out

Taste Encounter I

The end of the day was nearing, the sun was lowering in the sky and we all sat in a nice group talking about random things with each other, Adam had just arrived after having left for dinner with his family so we were a full group again.
'So, where we headed off to next?' I ask, unaccustomed to being out after 7 in the evening, strict parents and all.
'How 'bout my house, we could get the fire going again then,' Ben suggested, his house wasn't too far from where we were right now, no one had any objections but nor did anyone agree, 'well?' He asked,
'I don't mind,' I simply state, I usually leave the decision making to the rest, my motto is conform now, regret it later.
'Well, there really isn't anywhere else we could go,' the girls concluded finally, the guys too.
But as we stood we here laughter, everything seemed to freeze, it was as silent as silent can get while we listened for the slightest sound. Hannah prepped her knife, since we were a fairly large group she had left her gun home, Jake cracked his knuckles, Lucy had her eyes closed trying to find the source of the laugh. We would normally ignore something like this but, there was no sign of someone having gone by, nor was there any sign of anyone at all in this low light and that laugh didn't seem friendly nor did it seem far away.
'I thought I'd see her,' Jake whispered, I raise my eye brows,
'You know her?' I start,
'No, she appeared in a dream, a nightmare even,' He explained,
'That's why she seemed familiar!' I swallow, I had seen her too, everyone had some recollection of this person from what I had just gathered, sweeping the surrounding area for loose thoughts, everyone had acknowledged this girl one way or another.

'So you recognise me.'
