When squad comes out

Ben's POV
I woke up early, too early. 5 am, now that should be early to John's standards. I change my position and stared up at the ceiling, I had myself sleep in my room as nobody had chosen to stay over for the weekend. The more I thought, with the things we could do, in retrospect, it was no surprise someone had a power we weren't aware of and had planned to use it against us, or at least for evil. The Nightmare...
I shake the thought off and try very hard to sleep again.

After having gotten ready and eaten breakfast, I was at school with the lads. Our chatter was slow and held back, there wasn't much to talk about and there didn't seem to be anything new coming up, even Oscar knew that he had to shut up. Then Mark came in, for as early as he arrived at school, he was usually the last one to join the group,
'So, any chance you guys can't make tonight?' He goes, to the others outside the "club" it seemed obscure but Jake was the one who answered,
'We can make it don't worry, is there anyone who can't?' He asked, Mark seemed quiet perky,
'No no, but you guys are going to want to see what I've got done to the place,' he said, even more as obscure to us than this was to the others. I look at the guys, Jake, James, Oscar, the twins and at Adam, Euan Mackay hadn't arrived yet but Adam and Matt hadn't gone for their morning stroll around school, it was confusion. The other boys just continued their own lines of conversation.

School had ended rather abruptly for a really slow day, and me and the guys were the first to meet with Mark. He was staring down at his IPad like always and hurriedly typing something, his face in pure concentration and a weird seriousness,
'The fuck Mark?' James asks, clearly worried
'Yeah?' Came the answer, a moment later and after the clap of the case shutting he smiled and said, 'that's homework done!' To our shock,
'English homework already?' Jake starts,
'Yeah, just a page or two on the of mice of men revision booklet wasn't it?' He says, turning as the girls arrive, 'come on, we're burning daylight, let's go.'
