Must be pretty difficult not living within a walk's distance from school, having to wake up early, right. Changing into my uniform, I make to check my school stuff only to feel something weird, it shivers up my spine. I brush it off, head downstairs, scoff down my breakfast and walk to school. Kinda lonely today, the sky's kinda bland but I don't mind. Down St Cyres road, I feel like I should be noticing something. Then it strikes me...literally.

I stood stock still, the flash of lightning enveloped me for that one moment. Nothing happened to me. I stare down at my hands, a shade of white brighter than usual and shaking. I stare at them longer, then turn to see if anyone else saw what had happened. No one, there's at least some people at this time of day. At the corner of my eyes I see a small flash of light coming from my hands, I snap my head towards it, hoping to catch a sight of it. I stare for an awkwardly long time, nothing. Then I see a spark from my fingers. What, the fuck? From behind, someone shouts at me.
'Hey! Heads up!' He shouted, with a grin that suggested otherwise to the fact that it was an accident, I felt different. I didn't flinch, I didn't even falter, heart beat moderate, unhurried. I simply stood there when the ball was about to make contact. A flash of light, the boom of thunder and when my vision cleared I found myself before the boy. He stared up in fear, shaken. He turned, screamed and ran for all he was worth.

Behind, I see a glowing ball of light. I walk slowly over to it, a crouch down and ponder at the fact that what I did was amazing, just got shocked by lightning but don't care. Without conscious thought, I reach out towards the ball of light. It expanded as I touched it, then everything went blank.
