The next morning....
For the first time in a long time Fatima gets to sleep in because she has a doctor's appointment. So Zac woke up to get the kids ready for school...
"Daddy.." "What's up Angel?" "You love Mommy right?" Zac gives his son a puzzled look, "Of course I love your mother Angel. What kind of question is that?" "So why y'all fight all the time..." "Angel. You're mother and I don't fight, we have discussions..." "What's that?!" "It's like having a conversation, Angel. Just like we're doing now..." he explained.
Angel smacks his lips, folding his arms in a stance. "No y'all don't..." "Yes we do..." "Nuh, Uh!" "Uh...Huhhh." Zac argued back.
"Daddy. You and Mommy be cursing..." "WHAT?" "And screaming...you say fuck and she be like shit Daddy..."
It clicked,
Zac burst into a hysterical laugh. "Boy!" He blurts, pushing Angel's head. "Stay outta grown folks business..." "But I asked you a question?" "You ask too many damn questions but to answer your question. Yes I love your mother and the way you hear us "fight" is a way for us to show that love..." he explained in the simplest way he could then added, "And another thing. Stop using swear words. You're too smart for that..."
"I know..." Angel replied. "But I only used it to espain Daddy..." "I know you did My Guy. Which is why I let you get it out but remember...." As he brought his hands to his mouth and so did Angel.
Their eyes suspiciously went from left to right as they came close to each other and whispered, "Shhhh, don't tell nooooooobody." Then did their secret father and son handshake.
Zac smiles, shaking his head watching Angel run off into the hallway, making his way downstairs. However before he hits the stairwell he stops into Zac and Fatima's room.
He climbs into bed with Fatima kissing her face to wake her.
"Morning my Angel." "Morning Mommy." He says, with his signature smile. He goes to her belly. "Morning Baby."
The baby makes a subtle move to his greeting and Angel places his hand. "Mommy." "Yes..." "Can you have a boy?" "Angel, the gender of the baby isn't up to me. It's up to God..." "Well I had a talk with God. He said it's a girl...."
Fatima laughs, as she starts to sit up, "Did he?" "Yeah, but I told him..." she chuckles again, "You told God.." "Yeah." he spoke seriously.
Fatima's eyes flutter, Angel repeats, "I told God, that I wanted a brother so I can have someone to play with...Yani is boring.."
"Boy ain't nobody boring. You steady being bad and don't nobody got the time." Angel smacks his lips, "Good Morning Mommy..." Fatima snickers, "Good Morning YanaMama.." she says, shaking her head.
"And besides, I wouldn't mind having a brother Mommy because I already have a sister..." "Really?" "Yeah. My Mimi is all I need." Fatima smiles. "I couldn't agree more with that statement YanaMama." "And besides, another brother wouldn't hurt considering you and daddy got it wrong the first time..." she reiterated making a face at Angel. Who equally returned the energy.
Fatima slaps her hand across her face, "These two..." as Angel and Iyonna begin to argue.
Just as Fatima was about to stop them, "Iyonna Zuri and Angel Lewis..." "Yes Daddy." "Stop arguing and leave your mother alone." "Sorry Mommy." "It's ok..." Fatima shook her head, then proceeded to get up because her bladder was about to burst.
"Daddy, did you sign my cheer and gymnastics paper..." "What paper?!" "DAAAADDDDDYYYYYY!" "TIME TO EAT!" Big Ma calls from the kitchen. "Munchkin. You never gave daddy a paper..." "I did..". She whined on the verge of tears. "I put it on your side of the nightstand. I texted you..."
