Same Night....
Fatima screams, ducking from the glass shattering.
"Zac..." she screams. "It's cool, Mamas." He let out a breath, taking the gun from the holster from the small of his back.
Noticing that the driver was unresponsive, he checked to be sure Fatima was alright, checking around for the culprit.
"Fatima, call the police..." he told her.
The backseat passenger side door opens, "Give me everything or else..." the man said, putting a gun to Zac's head, yet anticipating and underestimating who he was dealing with.
In one quick move, Zac took his gun away from him, BAM!!! "Ahhhhh fuck!" "Or else what nigga?" Zac mumbled with venom, hearing Fatima on the phone with the operator.
He gets out, "Talk yo shit now you pussy muthafucka." Zac shouted at the guy on the ground, groaning in pain.
He kicks his gun away, then proceeds to take the man by the collar, pounding his face in with the barrel of his gun.
"Look, man, I'm sorry..." the guy begs, with a bloody mouth,
"Sorry, my ass..." Zac grunts until he hears,
Click, click.
"Drop him muthafucka or else I'll drop..." BAM!!! "Not on my watch, you're not," Fatima mumbled with an equal amount of venom, pulling the trigger, hearing sirens.
The next day...
"You good, Mamas?" Zac asked, coming into the kitchen.
"Yeah..." Fatima draws out. "Talk to me." "Did that really happen to us last night?" "It did." He utters, "And I can tell you're still shaken up." Taking her hands into his.
When the police arrived on the scene, they analyzed what they saw instead of what actually happened.
They arrested Fatima because she still had the gun in her hand, while also arresting Zac because the man on the ground complained about "getting beaten up". However, when the captain approached the scene, he assessed the situation and became enraged at the incompetence of his officers.
To Zatima's surprise, the captain was Zac's unit commander during his monthly duties as a Reserve Airman, so he and Fatima were able to go without a hair out of place.
For the two men involved in the attempted robbery, while one was already dead, the other was sent straight to jail because he was already wanted for a robbery at the local bank.
"I am," Fatima admitted in a whisper. "I mean, I've shot a nigga before, of course, but taking a whole life." She murmurs.
Zac brings her in for a hug. "You did what you had to do to protect this family...Our family..."
"I know..." she mumbles, coming from their embrace. She turns back around, facing the stove, as Zac wraps himself around her.
He kissed the nape of her neck, then rested his chin on her shoulder. "Thank you for saving my life." "And thank you for saving mine," she whispered back.
A week later....
7 days until Zac leaves
Houston, Texas
"Angel..." "Sawry Mommy." Angel says, giving Fatima sad eyes, "Don't give ya Momma that look, boy." Zac mumbles to his copy. "Keep being busy if you want to. You know what'cha doing?"
"That boy is all you, Peanut." "Ain't he though." Big Ma retorted to Amanda's comment.
"Big Ma," Fatima utters, picking up Iyonna because she won't stop crying from Angel's wrath.
