Same day....
Zac gets home from dropping off the kids at school,
"Aye George..." "Mr. Taylor. I was just about to knock..." he greets, "You good man. Thanks a lot..." "No, problem. It's always a pleasure to deliver to the Taylor household." Handing the flower bouquets over to Zac.
"Did you deliver to my mother as well?" "Not yet." George informed him. "She's my next stop and thanks for the tip." He added.
"No problem George, be safe and have a good one." "You too Mr. Taylor." He called, getting back into his delivery truck and driving off.
Zac gets into the house and it's quiet so he assumed Fatima was asleep. Taking everyone's flowers upstairs, he places Iyonna and Big Ma's bouquets in their rooms, however in passing by their bedroom he hears...
"You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you, so please don't take, my sunshine away..."
He smiles in the doorway knocking softly. "Hey."
Fatima turns towards the door, "Hey." Sitting up.
Zac steps in placing the flowers down on the nightstand in their normal spot.
"May I have a kiss?" "How did drop off go?" Zac slumps, "Smoother than usual." He answered sitting on the bed.
She hands Naomi over to him and he starts to give her kisses. "Angel ain't expect Grandma Manie to be a parent volunteer for the day..." "Well at least we know he'll come home with a blue star." Fatima mumbled getting up.
"Hey..." taking her wrist lightly, "Can we talk?" "Can I use the bathroom first?" He lets go. "Thank you." As she left the room.
Zac drew his attention back to Naomi, "Mommy's mad at Daddy Nugget, what should I do?" He asked playfully.
Naomi squirms a little then yawns. Zac smiles, "So what your saying is. Daddy's on his own..."
Naomi smirks, "Petty..." giving her a kiss again.
"So what do you wanna talk about?" Fatima appeared, getting back into bed.
"And Zac. I do mean talk because I seriously don't have the mental or emotional capacity right now to be arguing with you..." "I agree." He says, "I've been missing you...us..." he confesses.
"Have you?" "Yes." He assured,
It's silent for a moment as Zac places Naomi in her bassinet, he gets on to the bed with Fatima making their legs intertwine while facing each other. "Can I please have a kiss?" She leans in.
Kiss. "Thank you." "You're welcome."
"I fucked up..." Fatima rolls her eyes taking an exasperated sigh, "And if I'm being honest I don't know how to fix this but I do know I can't do any of this without you. Nor do I want to..."
Fatima sucks her teeth, "You sure about that?!" She challenged.
"Yes." "So you're talking to Ivy in your sleep again..." "Babe. I swear to you..." "Zac you literally said and I quote, "That was supposed to be for us."" She stated, "So were you speaking about me to her or to her directly because I can distinctly remember telling you that I'm not trying to compete with a past love..." "And I don't want you to." he reiterated.
Fatima starts to sniffle. "Mamas, I love you..." "But you're IN love with Ivyonna..." "True but can you please understand how she was a huge part of my life. Just like Brandon was for you." he expressed.
Fatima gasped, "Seriously..." "Babe. I didn't say that to hurt you..." he spoke softly. "I'm just trying to get you to see where I'm coming from." he told her.
