●AUTHORS POV●
The Rajvansh mansion in Mumbai was always full of life. Laughter echoed through its vast hallways, the aroma of fresh parathas filled the air in the mornings, and chaos was a constant companion in the house where three siblings and a mischievous cousin resided.
Isha Rajvansh, the eldest daughter of the family, sat on the balcony of her room, sipping her morning tea. The Mumbai skyline stretched before her, the city buzzing with its usual energy. But her mind was elsewhere. She had made up her mind-she wanted a life beyond this luxurious home, beyond the Rajvansh name.
A loud crash interrupted her thoughts.
"I told you not to touch my things, Riya!" Ayaansh's exasperated voice echoed through the hallways.
Isha sighed, setting her cup down. Not again.
She walked into the corridor, where her younger siblings were in the middle of their daily war. Ayaansh, stood with his arms crossed, glaring at Riya, who was clutching his gaming controller like a prized possession.
"You are so dramatic, Ayaansh! I was just checking how it works," Riya huffed, hugging the controller. At 15, she was a force to be reckoned with-smart-mouthed, stubborn, and always ready to get on Ayaansh 's nerves.
Arjun, leaned against the doorframe, laughing. "Man, this never gets old. You two fight more than my phone battery drains."
"Why are you enjoying this, Arjun?" Isha raised an eyebrow. "You should be stopping them!"
Arjun grinned. "Where's the fun in that?"
"Enough, both of you!" Isha stepped in between her siblings. "Riya, give the controller back."
"But-"
"No buts. Ayaansh, stop acting like she committed a crime. And Arjun, stop instigating them!"
Arjun raised his hands in surrender. "Fine, fine. I was just providing background commentary."
The noise caught their mother's attention. Gayatri Rajvansh walked out of the kitchen, her sharp gaze scanning the scene. "What is going on?"
Ayaansh and Riya immediately went silent, exchanging guilty glances. Arjun, of course, had no such fear.
"Just another episode of Ayaansh vs. Riya-The Never-Ending Battle," he quipped.
Gayatri sighed but smiled. "I swear, this house is a madhouse." Then her eyes landed on Isha. "And you, young lady, have been oddly quiet. What's on your mind?"
Isha hesitated, glancing at her father, who had just joined them. "Actually, I wanted to talk to you all about something."
The family turned toward her, sensing the seriousness in her tone. Isha took a deep breath. "I want to study in Jaipur."
Silence.
Her father, Rudrapratap Rajvansh, frowned. "Jaipur? Why Jaipur? There are plenty of good colleges here in Mumbai."
"I don't want to study in Mumbai," Isha said firmly. "I want to be independent, Papa. I don't want people to know me just as 'Isha Rajvansh.' I want to make a name for myself on my own, without our surname overshadowing me."
Her mother looked concerned. "Beta, we never stopped you from pursuing your dreams. But why so far away?"
"I need this, Ma," Isha pleaded. "I love our family, but I want to experience a normal life. I don't want the luxury, the security, or the special treatment that comes with being a Rajvansh."
