●AUTHORS POV●

Isha sat in the dimly lit bedroom, her hands trembling as she held her belly. She could feel her daughter’s tiny movements inside her, a reminder that she had someone to protect—someone who depended on her.

She had always thought love meant sacrifice, but now she knew better. Love wasn’t about suffering in silence; love was about fighting back.

And she would fight.

She had to escape.

For days, Isha pretended.

She smiled when Raghav was home, nodded when he spoke, and stayed silent when he grabbed her wrist a little too hard. But inside, she was counting the moments, planning her next move.

Raghav had become more unpredictable, more violent. Every time she hesitated, she reminded herself of what he had said—

"Either you get rid of it, or I’ll make you regret it."

She wouldn’t let him hurt her daughter.

Late at night, when Raghav was asleep, she began gathering small essentials—some money she had hidden over time, her identification papers, and a small bag with her most important belongings.

But escaping wasn’t just about leaving. She had to do it right.

She had to make sure he couldn’t find her.

That evening, Raghav left for a meeting. He had been in an unusually good mood all day, which meant one thing—he thought he had won.

He had no idea that tonight was the night Isha would take back control.

She took a deep breath and clutched her bag.

One step at a time, she walked out of the apartment.

The corridor was empty.

Her heartbeat thundered in her ears as she quickly made her way down the stairs instead of taking the elevator—less chance of getting caught.

Her hands were shaking as she pushed open the main gate.

The night air hit her, and for the first time in months, she felt like she could breathe.

She took the train to Mumbai

As sdhe was travelling, her pulse raced.

Would Raghav find out? Would he come after her?

But then, a familiar sight appeared in the distance—her home.

As soon as Isha stepped out, her legs gave way, and she collapsed to her knees.

Her mother came running out.

“Isha!” she gasped, her voice breaking.

Isha looked up, tears streaming down her face. “Ma…”

Within seconds, her mother pulled her into a tight embrace, sobbing.

Her father rushed out next, his face turning pale at the sight of her. “Beta…”
