I took a deep breath, my fingers tightening around Meera's as I prepared to unearth the memories I had spent years burying.

"I failed as a brother, Meera."

A lump formed in my throat, and before I could stop it, a tear slipped from my eye. I turned my face away, not wanting her to see me like this, but Meera cupped my cheek gently and wiped it away with her thumb.

"No...you didn't" she whispered, her voice full of warmth and understanding.

She pulled me into a hug, her small frame wrapping around me like a shield against my demons.

"You know, Meera..." My voice wavered as I spoke against her shoulder, "I couldn't save Isha. She didn't even feel safe enough to tell me what was happening in her life. Do you know how that feels?" I pulled back slightly, looking into her eyes. "The person I loved the most in this world-my sister-was suffering, and I didn't even know."

Meera shook her head, her hands gripping my arms as if trying to ground me. "It wasn't your fault."

I let out a bitter chuckle. "But it was, Meera. It was."

My mind drifted back to that night.

The night I carried her in my arms. Lifeless.

"When I picked her up that day, when I held her in my arms and felt the last bit of warmth leaving her body... I broke, Meera. I shattered into pieces I could never put back together."

Meera's lips trembled, her eyes filling with tears.

"She gave everything to love, Meera. She believed in it, fought for it... but in the end, it was all a delusion. She was strong, but love shattered her. And after that, she wasn't the same. She only lived because of Ira. Before Raghav, she was full of life. But after him... she was just trying to survive."

Meera inhaled sharply. Her grip on me tightened. "It wasn't her fault. And it wasn't yours either. It was Raghav's. He did this to her. He did this to you."

I clenched my jaw. "I know."

A silence settled between us. Meera was still holding my hands, her warmth the only thing keeping me from slipping back into the abyss of those memories.

She looked up at me, confusion flickering in her eyes. "why was Isha's identity never disclosed?"

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Because of me and Ira."

Meera's brows furrowed.

"After Isha died, I adopted Ira. It was her last wish. But I-" My voice cracked, and I swallowed hard before continuing. "I lost myself. Completely. Meera, I didn't just grieve-I fell apart."
