A warm glow peeked through the curtains, casting soft golden hues across the room. My eyelids fluttered open, and the first thing I saw was him.

Khadoos.

The man who had once been nothing but a storm in my life, a force I had clashed with at every turn. And yet, here he was, sleeping so peacefully beside me, his sharp features softened by sleep, his dark lashes resting against his skin.

My subconscious mind popped up instantly. "Finally, yeh aadmi sirf tera hai, Meera."

For the first time, I wholeheartedly agreed.

A small smile played on my lips as I lifted my hand, unable to resist the urge to touch him.

Gently, I traced my fingers over his closed eyelids, feeling the slight flutter beneath my touch. My fingers glided down the bridge of his nose, pausing for a second before they finally reached his lips-those same lips that had kissed me senseless last night.

I brushed my fingertips over them, reliving the memory, my heart doing little somersaults in my chest.

But before I could dwell on the moment, a strong hand shot up, catching mine in a firm grip.

Before I could react, my world spun, and in the blink of an eye, I found myself pinned beneath him, my back against the soft mattress.

"Good morning, wifey," Khadoos murmured against my lips, his voice thick with sleep, his breath warm against my skin. "Taking advantage of a sleeping man, are we?"

Heat rushed to my face as I stuttered, "N-nahi toh! Main... main bas-"

"Liar," he smirked before pressing open-mouthed kisses along my jaw, his lips trailing down towards my neck, his touch making my breath hitch.

"Aap ky..a kar ra..he ..h.ai!" I gasped, feeling warmth spread through me.

He chuckled against my skin, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine.

Gathering whatever little control I had left, I pushed against his chest, making him roll onto his back. "Aaj aapko kya ho gaya hai? Aap mere wo Khadoos nahi lag rahe!" I accused, sitting up quickly, my heart still hammering.

At my words, Khadoos threw his head back and laughed-a full, deep, carefree laugh that sent my heart tumbling all over again.

I stared at him in disbelief. This was the first time when I saw him laughing.
