We finally pulled up to the grand gates of the Rajvansh mansion after what felt like an eternity on the road. The rain had stopped, but the sky was still overcast, casting a silvery hue over the sprawling estate.

I glanced down at my foot, now wrapped in a makeshift bandage Arjun had insisted on applying during our drive back. The faint throbbing reminded me of my sprained ankle, and I winced slightly as I reached for the door handle to step out.

I also tugged at the jacket I was wearing—Arjun's jacket. Its scent, a mix of subtle cologne and something undeniably him, wrapped around me like a warm embrace. I found myself smiling faintly, despite the ache in my foot, as I adjusted it closer. It was such a simple thing, yet it carried a strange comfort, reminding me of the way he'd handed it to me earlier, coldly grumbling about me catching a cold.

Before I could move, a strong hand gripped my wrist, stopping me mid-motion. I looked up, startled, to see Arjun leaning toward me. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes were sharp and unyielding. "Stay put," he ordered in that curt tone I was so used to by now.

"But I can walk," I protested, though my voice lacked conviction.

He ignored me entirely. Without a word, he stepped out of the car, walked around to my side, and opened the door. Before I could argue further, he bent down and lifted me into his arms as if I weighed nothing at all. The suddenness of it made me gasp, and I instinctively clutched at his shirt to steady myself.

"Mr. Khadoos!" I squeaked, feeling my cheeks heat up.

"You're not walking on that foot," he said simply, his tone leaving no room for debate.

As we approached the front steps, the doors swung open to reveal Ayaansh and Riya standing there with identical mischievous grins. Ayaansh's eyebrows shot up, and he let out a low whistle.

"Wow, bhai! Going full filmi hero, are we?" he teased, crossing his arms and leaning casually against the doorframe.

Riya wasn't far behind, clasping her hands dramatically. "Oh, the romance! The drama! Carry on, don't let us interrupt."

I wanted to bury my face in Arjun's chest from sheer embarrassment, but instead, I managed a feeble glare at them. "It's not what you think!" I tried to explain, but they only hooted louder.

"Enough," Arjun said sharply, silencing them with a single glare. His grip on me tightened slightly as he strode past them and into the house. I was too flustered to say anything more, so I buried my face against his shoulder, hoping the ground would swallow me whole.

By the time we reached my room, I was exhausted. The day had been long, and the rain had soaked me to the bone earlier. Arjun carefully placed me on the bed and straightened up.

"Stay here. Don't move until the doctor checks your foot," he said curtly before walking out of the room, presumably to call for help. Despite his cold tone, I couldn't ignore the way he'd carried me or the careful way he'd handled my foot during the drive.
