●AUTHORS POV●

The days that followed were a whirlwind of emotions. Isha had never been one to let her feelings dictate her actions, but with Raghav’s presence looming over her every moment, it was becoming increasingly difficult to stay unaffected. His words from the library kept replaying in her mind—Let me in.

That night, Isha sat in her room, her thoughts racing. She stared at the ceiling, wondering if she was making a huge mistake. She had always been careful, always planned ahead, and now she was faced with the possibility of opening up to someone she didn’t fully understand.

But wasn’t that what she had been avoiding?

Wasn’t this the very thing I’ve been protecting myself from? she asked herself.

She sighed and pulled the blanket tighter around her. She couldn’t sleep. Her heart was too full of uncertainty, her mind too cluttered with Raghav’s words.

The following afternoon, as she walked across campus toward the cafeteria, Isha saw Raghav waiting near the entrance. His casual stance, leaning against the wall, made him look like he belonged there, like he was part of the place she had come to call home.

Her heart skipped a beat when he caught sight of her.

"Hey," he greeted, his tone warm, but his eyes held something deeper—a flicker of expectation.

"Hi," Isha replied, trying to keep her voice neutral. She couldn’t allow herself to sound too eager.

"You busy?" he asked, stepping closer to her, closing the distance between them.

"Not really," she answered, her mind racing. Why is he here? What does he want now?

"Good. I thought maybe we could talk." His voice was low, almost too casual for the weight of his words. "I feel like there’s something between us, and I think we should discuss it."

Isha froze. The familiar tension that had started to build between them was suddenly too tangible. She swallowed hard, trying to keep her composure. "Raghav, we’re friends, right?"

He smiled, but there was something unreadable about it. "Are we? I was hoping for something more than that."

Isha felt a knot form in her stomach. More?

"Look, I’m not trying to rush anything," Raghav continued, sensing her hesitation. "But I can’t ignore what’s happening between us. I think you feel it too."

She wanted to say something—something to push him away, to tell him to stop—but the words wouldn’t come. Instead, she nodded slowly, her heart pounding.

"I don’t know what you mean," she said softly, though she knew the truth. There was something there. She couldn’t deny it.

Raghav reached out, his hand brushing against hers, sending a wave of electricity through her. "I think you do, Isha. And I’m not going to make you say it. I’ll give you time to figure it out."

She pulled her hand away, her skin still tingling from his touch. "I’m not sure if I’m ready for that, Raghav."

He studied her for a moment, then sighed, his expression softening. "I understand. But I want you to know… I’m not going anywhere."

Isha took a step back, the weight of his words heavy on her shoulders. He’s not going anywhere. The thought made her feel both comforted and trapped, and she didn’t know which was worse.
