I promise to love you till forever, even in death, I will love you because our love is far beyon forever...

Evanly

Love was never meant to be perfect, and neither were we. But we had chosen each other-again and again, despite the scars, the flaws, the mistakes.

Two weeks before Christmas, Devon and I found ourselves on his private jet, en route to Italy. The air buzzed with the quiet hum of conversation-Danzel, Conillious, and little Luciano laughing in the back, their voices mingling like echoes of a memory I wasn't sure I could ever have. I had wanted that-family, warmth, a love that bloomed into something tangible. But life had other plans.

My fingers curled instinctively around my stomach, an ache forming deep in my chest. I hadn't told him. How could I? The life we had created-so brief, so fragile-was gone before he had even known it existed.

A firm grip tightened around my hand, pulling me from my thoughts. Devon sat beside me, his expression dark, lost in a storm of his own making. His piercing blue eyes, always so intense, stared into nothingness, his jaw clenched like he was bracing for a blow.

"Devon, my love," I whispered, reaching up to touch his face, my fingers trailing gently against the sculpted lines of his cheek. "Come back to me."

His gaze snapped to mine, like a man woken from a dream. And in that moment, I saw him-really saw him. The torment. The weight of unspoken fears. The love that burned so fiercely it terrified him.

"I'm here, amor," he murmured, his hands cradling my face as he kissed me-soft at first, lingering, then deepening with a desperation that stole my breath. I melted into him, letting the taste of him consume me, anchor me, remind me that no matter the darkness, we had this.

I pulled back just enough to look into his eyes. "You're distracted. This isn't like you. What's wrong?"

His sigh was heavy, like he was exhaling the weight of the world. "I'm just thinking about how I can't give you the one thing you desire most." He swallowed hard, his fingers threading through mine. "I know I can't give you the family you want, and it kills me, Evanly."

My heart clenched at his words. I had never imagined that he felt this way. That he carried this burden in silence. He looked away, but I refused to let him retreat into himself.

"Devon, don't say that." I gently turned his face back to mine. "You've already given me everything I could ever ask for. You. Your love. Your protection. Starting a family was a dream, but dreams change, baby. And right now, all I want is you. Just you."

Tears burned in his eyes, but he didn't let them fall. Instead, he crushed me into him, kissing me deeply-so deep it was as if he was trying to fuse his soul with mine. The kiss was raw, desperate, filled with emotions neither of us could put into words. I felt his pain, his love, his silent vows.

And I knew, no matter what, we would be okay.

The plane landed at the Marscino estate, and I was greeted by the kind of wealth that still left me breathless. Christmas lights twinkled like tiny stars, draping the grand architecture in a soft golden glow. Snow blanketed the grounds, the frost glistening under the pale light of the moon.

Darria's voice crackled through the intercom.

"Alright folks, welcome to Italy! This has been another successful flight with Darriana Airways. Please ensure you don't forget your billion-dollar luggage and your deep-seated emotional baggage. Thank you for flying with us!"
