Loki stood on a floating staircase, his gaze fixed on the cloaked and disembodied figure, that radiated power and authority seated in a thronelike chair. The Other was talking to him submissively. Loki still didn't know the true identity of The Other's master, although he didn't need to know. All he cared about was seizing the opportunity to fulfill his purpose: to rule Earth. The thought ignited a fire in his chest, fueled by years of feeling overshadowed and dismissed. His father, Odin, had never seen his potential, always favoring Thor as the golden child. And Jane—sweet, brilliant Jane—had fallen in love with his brother, deepening the wounds of rejection. But Loki was resolved to show them both just how wrong they were. He would rise from the shadows, wielding power that they could never comprehend, and dominate Earth and its humans.
"The Tesseract has awakened," The Other informed its master. "It is on a little world, a human world. They would wield its power."." As The Other handed LOKI a scepter adorned with a glowing blue gem, it continued, "But our ally knows its workings as they never will. He is ready to lead."
Loki observed the Chitauri, a fearsome race of reptilian warriors, a fusion of organic beings and advanced technology. One by one, they donned their imposing masks, signaling their readiness for battle. "And our force, our Chitauri, will follow. The world will be his...the universe, yours. And the humans, what can they do but burn?"
Moments later, in a beam of light, he materialized on Earth, taking a second to inhale the familiar earthly air. When he opened his eyes and turned around, he surveyed his surroundings. He had landed in a laboratory full of scared humans staring at him, and across the room stood a mysterious cube, pulsating with a powerful energy that filled the space. Rays of light emanated from it, causing the scientists nearby to duck and cover in fear. The Tesseract. The very artifact he had been tasked to retrieve for The Other's master. Its presence was undeniable, and with it, the potential for unimaginable power lay within his grasp.
As he surveyed the frightened faces around him, one individual stood out, regarding him with a gaze that held more than just fear.
"John?" Erik Selvig gasped, his voice barely above a whisper, having recognized him.
"Sir!? Please put down the spear!" implored a man with an eye patch, his tone urgent.
Loki shot a brief glance at his scepter but dismissed the plea entirely. Instead, he unleashed a powerful blast, forcing an agent to push the man aside, to save his life. Before anyone in the room could retaliate, Loki continued his assault, firing indiscriminately. Shots were fired at him, but none of the bullets reached him. Silly humans, he thought, trying to kill me with a mortal weapon. The room was filled with chaos as several agents fell, and the equipment in the lab was obliterated, sending shards and sparks flying in all directions. The once sterile environment transformed into a scene of destruction.
As one of the agents staggered to his feet, he lunged at Loki in a desperate attempt to fight back. "You have heart," the demigod remarked, a hint of amusement in his voice.
