Felix took a seat on a bench near the fountain in the campus garden, the soft sound of water splashing against the stones barely registering in his mind. He tried to shake the image of Jinwoo and Hyunjin together out of his head, but it clung stubbornly, replaying in a loop that made his stomach twist.

The garden was bustling with students enjoying their break before heading to their next lectures, laughter and chatter filling the air. But Felix felt like he was in a bubble, isolated from the world around him. He couldn't help but focus on the bitter taste still lingering from his earlier experience, a reminder of the possessive instincts he had struggled to suppress.

As he stared at the water, lost in thought, he sensed someone sitting beside him. He turned to find Jeongin settling down, leaving a bit of space between them. Jeongin's presence was familiar and comforting, but even he seemed to notice the bitterness clinging to Felix.

"Hey, you okay?" Jeongin asked, his voice gentle but concerned.

Felix forced a smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Yeah, just... thinking."

Jeongin studied him for a moment, his gaze flicking to the fountain before returning to Felix. "You sure? You look like someone just crushed your favorite dessert."

Felix chuckled softly, though the humor felt strained. "It's nothing like that. Just a lot on my mind."

Jeongin shifted slightly closer, narrowing the gap between them. "You can talk to me, you know. I'm here to listen."

Felix hesitated. He appreciated Jeongin's concern, but he didn't want to drag his friend into the whirlwind of emotions swirling within him. "It's just... Hyunjin has been getting a lot of attention lately. And not all of it feels right."

Jeongin raised an eyebrow, a knowing look in his eyes. "You mean Jinwoo? I've seen how he looks at Hyunjin."

Felix nodded, the knot in his stomach tightening. "Yeah. He's always hovering around him, and it just... bothers me."

"Understandable," Jeongin replied. "But you know Hyunjin, right? He's not someone who would just fall for someone else easily. He loves you."

Felix sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "It's not about that. It's about how people perceive me. They think I'm weak, that I can't protect him. It makes me feel—"

"Like you don't deserve him?" Jeongin finished softly, understanding the unspoken words hanging in the air.

Felix nodded, his heart heavy. "I want to be strong for him, but sometimes it feels like I'm failing."

Jeongin placed a reassuring hand on Felix's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You're not failing. You love him, and that's what matters. Just because you're not the stereotypical alpha doesn't mean you can't protect him in your own way."

Felix appreciated Jeongin's words, but the gnawing insecurity remained. "What if he sees Jinwoo as a better option? Someone who can actually take care of him?"

Jeongin shook his head, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Hyunjin knows your heart. And I've seen the way he looks at you—it's different. He chose you, Felix. Don't let anyone make you doubt that."

Felix felt a warmth spreading through him at Jeongin's encouragement, though the lingering doubt still festered in the back of his mind. "Thanks, Jeongin. I needed to hear that."

"Anytime," Jeongin replied, his expression turning serious again. "But if Jinwoo steps out of line, you need to be ready to show him who Hyunjin really belongs to."
