Rose paced back and forth in her room, her mind buzzing with the shocking revelation. Thoughts collided in a tangled mess of disbelief and frustration. How had she not known about this? And Ren-of all people! She still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that the infuriating guy she'd just met was somehow tied to her brother's life.
Her mind raced as she replayed the events from downstairs, the truth sinking in like a heavy weight on her chest. F4... they're Ray's friends. It was her worst nightmare come to life.
She could still feel the sting of Ren's words, the way his voice dripped with incredulity and annoyance.
"This annoying girl is your sister?"
The nerve of him.
With a frustrated groan, Rose stopped pacing and collapsed onto her bed, burying her face in her hands. Before she could spiral any further, her phone buzzed beside her. She grabbed it, unlocking the screen to see a message from Ray.
Ray: Don't stress about it too much, okay? Take it easy, Rose.
She let out another groan, staring at the message in disbelief. Take it easy? How was she supposed to do that when her brother's world had suddenly crashed into hers? And now, on top of everything, she had to deal with Ren, who for some reason seemed to have a personal vendetta against her.
Sighing, she leaned back, her fingers hovering over the screen. For a moment, she considered texting gorya about everything. But even that felt exhausting. Instead, she let her phone drop onto the bed and returned to her thoughts, replaying every detail of what had happened.
A sudden knock at the door snapped her out of it. She sat up, frowning.
"Who is it?"
"It's me," Ray's voice came from the other side. "Can I come in?"
Rose rolled her eyes, but curiosity prickled at her. "Yeah, sure."
The door creaked open, and Ray stepped inside, his usual playful demeanor replaced by something more serious. He sat down on the edge of her bed, his expression unreadable.
"You wasn't replying to my messages.....and i am sorry for not telling you sooner," he said quietly.
Rose folded her arms, raising an eyebrow. "Tell me sooner about what? That you're best buddies with a bunch of guys who probably think they own the world?"
Ray sighed. "I know you don't like them, but they're not what you think."
She let out a bitter laugh. "Oh? So in your words, they have a personality disorder?"
Ray shook his head. "Rose, come on. You're being dramatic."
"Am I?" She shot back. "Because from what I saw, your so-called friends have no problem looking down on people."
Ray exhaled sharply, rubbing the back of his neck. "They're my friends, Rose. They're not perfect, but neither am I. And I promise you, they're not as bad as you think. And Ren... he's not bad either. He's actually a good person."
Rose narrowed her eyes. "Oh, so now you're defending that tall guy-"
"His name is Ren," Ray corrected, his voice calm.
"Yeah, whatever," she huffed. "I know he doesn't bully people, but as a friend, he's responsible for correcting his friends when they cross the line. And from what I've seen, he doesn't give a damn. So no, I won't consider him a good person."
Ray sighed again, shaking his head. "Listen, they're more complicated than you think. Ren's not like the others. He's... got his own reasons for doing things."
