The cafeteria buzzed with voices, laughter, and the clatter of trays. Gorya and Rose sat at their usual table.

Rose poking lazily at her lunch while Gorya sipped her soy milk, her eyes half-lost in thought.

Suddenly, two of Jane's friends stopped in front of them.

Gorya froze mid-sip and slowly turned toward them.

"Hey... honestly, I don't have the energy to fight with you today."

Both girls stiffened.

"We're not here to fight-"

"Then for what?" Rose cut in, lifting an eyebrow.

"We just want to-"

"Are you here to mess with Gorya again?"

Thyme appeared out of nowhere, casually wrapping an arm around Gorya's shoulders.

"No, Thyme, we're not-"

"I'm sick of protecting Gorya from you," he snapped.

Gorya tried to push his arm away, but he didn't even notice.

"Speaking of which," Thyme said suddenly, straightening up, "I'm going to announce something."
He turned toward the crowded cafeteria.

"Everyone, listen up!"

The noise slowly faded.

"No one will ever cause problems for Gorya again. If anyone has a problem with my girlfriend-"

Gorya stared at him with wide, terrified eyes.

"-then you have a problem with me. Got it?"

Rose chuckled softly, shaking her head. Just yesterday she learned about Thyme's crush on Gorya thanks to our information collector, MJ. At first she had refused to believe it, but once the pieces started fitting together, the truth became impossible to ignore.

"Huh?! Stop making things up in your head!" Gorya snapped.

"Making things up? You agreed to be my girlfriend. You didn't just say yes-you even..." Thyme trailed off.

"Even what?" Gorya's eyes widened.

"Did you do something to me?!"

"Do what? You- I'm not saying it."

"Did you do something?!"

"You did."

"Me?!"

"I'm done talking," Thyme muttered, turning away. "I'm leaving."

Rose grinned, resting her chin on her hand as she watched the two soon-to-be lovebirds argue.

"Why watch a comedy show when life was giving me a live broadcast for free?"she mumbles to herself, picking up the fork again.

.
.

"More trouble, huh?"

That single voice erased every other sound around her. It took a while her to process. Did she heard that right or it's just her mind playing another game.

She didn't need even a second to recognize it.

She looked up.

"Ren!"

MJ ran toward him and threw his arms around him in a tight hug.

"It's been a while," Ren said with a small smile. "The school is as chaotic as ever."

He sat casually on the railing, then looked down at her.

Their eyes met.

For one heartbeat, the world seemed to pause.
