"Well," she said after a moment, leaning back into her chair again, a small smile returning, "Don't worry I'll accept your bribe."

That was not a-" Ren started, but she cut him off before he could finish.

"So," she said, already reaching for the menu, "what are we ordering?"

She flipped it open with clear enthusiasm, her earlier distraction gone as if it had never existed. Her eyes moved quickly across the page, scanning every option with almost suspicious focus.
Ren stared at her for a second.

Then he exhaled quietly, a faint, helpless smile forming on his lips. "You didn't even let me defend myself."

"You can defend yourself later," she replied absentmindedly, not even looking up. "This is more important."

"More important than my dignity?"

"Way more important," she said without hesitation.

Ren let out a soft laugh under his breath, shaking his head slightly as he leaned back in his chair. He watched her again, but this time there was no confusion just quiet amusement.

She was completely different now.

A few minutes ago, she had been distant, lost somewhere in her thoughts. Now, she was fully present, eyes bright, fingers tracing lines across the menu like she was searching for something valuable.

It was... interesting how her eyes sparkle when the topic is about food.

The food arrived not long after, carried out in careful hands and placed neatly across the table. The rich aroma reached them first warm, savory, and inviting, curling through the air in a way that immediately made Rose sit up straighter.

For a brief second, she just stared.

The dishes looked even better than she had imagined steam rising softly, sauces glistening under the warm lights, colors layered so perfectly it almost felt like a shame to disturb them.

Her fingers tightened slightly around her fork.
Ren leaned back in his chair, watching the way her eyes lit up, the way she leaned forward ever so slightly like she was being pulled in.

"You're staring," he said quietly.

"I'm appreciating," she corrected, not taking her eyes off the food.

"Right."

She picked up her fork with a kind of quiet determination, like this was a task she had been preparing for all day. "You won't understand," she added, almost under her breath.

Ren rested his chin lightly against his hand, watching her with open amusement now. "I'm starting to think I don't."

"That's because you don't have priorities," she said, finally taking her first bite.

And then-

She froze.

Just slightly.

Ren noticed immediately.

"...Is it that bad?" he asked.
Rose didn't answer.

Instead, her eyes widened a fraction, and she covered her mouth quickly, still chewing, as if processing something far more serious than a simple taste.

He leaned forward a little. "Rose?"

She swallowed.

Then looked at him slowly.

"This," she said, pointing at the dish with her fork, "is the best decision you've made in your entire life."

Ren blinked.
