Common Room
Robin and Rosé, the event in-charges, sat near the window, their postures relaxed but their expressions sharp as they listened to the group chatter. Meanwhile, Jaemin, Jimin, Taehyung, Eun, Hana, Nari, Jungkook, and Chaeng were sprawled across the sofas and armchairs, some still groggy from the long night.
Chaeng sat beside Jungkook on the armrest of the couch, her legs lazily draped over his lap. Jungkook, in his usual effortless way, rested a hand on her knee, absentmindedly tracing patterns with his thumb as he half-listened to the conversation.
Jaemin let out a long, dramatic groan. "I swear, if I ever have to dance with her again, I’m setting the stage on fire."
"You mean Yoojin?" Hana asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jaemin rolled his eyes. "No, I mean the ghost of Christmas past. Yes, Yoojin."
Taehyung snorted. "I thought you loved making her suffer."
"That I did," Jaemin grinned, stretching his arms. "But I need a break from seeing her angry little face. I think I pulled a muscle from laughing too much."
Nari laughed. "You were messing with her nonstop."
Jaemin smirked, tilting his head. "What can I say? It’s a talent."
Eun, who had been half-listening, groaned. "I should’ve been paired with you instead of Jimin. You would at least make it fun."
Jimin scoffed, putting a hand on his chest in mock offense. "Excuse me? I was great."
"You were monotone," Eun countered, crossing her arms.
Jimin threw his hands up. "I WAS FOCUSING ON THE STEPS!"
Jaemin snickered. "Maybe try adding one facial expression next time."
Jimin glared. "I hate all of you."
Robin chuckled from his seat. "To be fair, the whole performance was pretty decent. You all pulled it off well."
Hana leaned back against the couch. "Barely. My legs still hurt."
"Tell me about it," Nari sighed. "And I had to wake up early for class today? That should be illegal."
"At least you only had one class," Robin muttered, rubbing his temples. "I had an advanced magical history lecture with Professor Grayson. I swear even four cups of moonwake felt weak in front of that man.
Moonwake, a dark black drink, infused with moonflower essence. Well, it sort of gets rid of the laziness. Quite popular among the scholars. Scholars like Robin.
"You think that’s bad?" Jimin said. "I had alchemy first thing in the morning. Do you know how dangerous it is to mix potions when you're half-asleep? I almost set my desk on fire."
Taehyung, flipping through his notes lazily, sighed. "Can we also acknowledge that we have a math assignment due tomorrow?"
Chaeng blinked. "Wait… we had math homework?"
Rosé groaned, rubbing her forehead. "Oh my god. None of you did it, did you?"
Jungkook smirked. "I did."
The room fell silent.
Jaemin turned to him dramatically. "You are disgusting."
Jungkook only shrugged, looking completely unbothered.
Eun snorted. "I’m honestly not even surprised."
Chaeng nudged Jungkook with her foot. "Nerd."
Jungkook turned his head, amused. "Says the girl who’s gonna ask me to help her finish it later."
