The hospital room was heavy with the weight of unspoken regret, the six members of BTS still reeling from the shocking truth they had just learned. Y/N lay unconscious in the bed, her body battered, her spirit seemingly broken.
The door to the room opened softly, and the doctor stepped in. He was a middle-aged man, his expression somber as he looked at Y/N’s fragile form. He glanced at the members of BTS, his eyes flicking from one to the other before speaking.
“I’ve been treating this patient for quite some time,” the doctor began, his voice calm but full of empathy. “She’s a regular visitor here, though not always under the same circumstances.”
Jin stood up immediately, his face tight with concern. “What do you mean? How is she?”
The doctor paused for a moment, clearly trying to find the right words. “What you see here today, the injuries… they aren’t new. She’s suffered in silence for a long time. We’ve seen her before, several times. Some of the injuries were even worse before, but each time she was discharged, she came back with more damage, more trauma.”
Jungkook clenched his fists. “How could this happen? How could no one notice?”
The doctor gave them a sad, knowing look. “Unfortunately, abuse isn’t always visible in ways people expect. Sometimes, it’s physical, but other times it’s emotional. And for her, it has been both.”
The words stung, each one of them landing like a sharp knife. They had failed her, and the doctor’s words made that guilt feel even more unbearable.
The doctor continued, his voice softening as he spoke. “She’s had four miscarriages, each one devastating in its own way. Her body has endured extreme stress, and it’s taken a toll. There are broken bones—old fractures that never healed properly. There are internal injuries… tear marks, bruises that are deep, and some that have yet to heal.”
Jimin’s throat tightened as he heard the words, the gravity of what they had ignored finally settling in.
“But we also found something else,” the doctor continued, his gaze lingering on Y/N. “The psychological impact... it’s as severe as the physical damage. She’s had to fight for her survival in ways that no person should have to. It’s heartbreaking to see someone as strong as her endure this kind of suffering.”
BTS stood in stunned silence, each of them processing the doctor's words in their own way. They had known something was wrong, but hearing the full extent of it—hearing how much pain she had been in, how much she had silently endured—made them feel like they were drowning in their own regret.
The doctor turned his attention back to them. “It’s important that you understand... she’s been through a lot. Physically, emotionally... and she may be too far gone to heal without serious intervention. The damage is deep. But it’s not too late to help her. She needs support, love, and the safety to be herself. If she doesn’t get that, I can’t guarantee she’ll ever fully recover.”
The words hung in the air like a dark cloud. Kittu looked down at her hands, her voice cracking as she whispered, “I should’ve known... I should’ve helped her.”
The doctor gave a small nod, acknowledging the pain in her voice. “None of us can undo the past. But you can help her now. It’s time to show her she’s not alone anymore.”
Silence filled the room again, and then Jungkook spoke, his voice thick with emotion. “We didn’t protect her. We didn’t do anything.”
The doctor glanced at each of them, his gaze lingering on the members. “You can’t change what happened, but you can change the future. Be the support she needs. Be the ones to show her that she deserves more than this. She can’t heal without you.”
The doctor left the room, leaving BTS standing there, surrounded by the weight of their guilt. They had failed her, yes. But they knew now, more than ever, that they had to fix it. They couldn’t erase the past, but they could fight for her future.
And they would. No matter what it took.
Kittu wiped her tears, her voice quiet as she looked at the members. “She needs us. She needs you. Don’t let her down again.”
Jin, his eyes bloodshot from the tears he had held back, nodded. “We won’t. We’ll fix this.”
