Taehyung sat alone in the darkened hall, Kittu's words echoing in his ears like knives.
She is innocent.
She endured everything for the child.
You hated the wrong person.

Every memory of Y/N flashed before him — not her defiance, not her silence, but her bruises. The way her body had curled under his fists. The way her eyes had gone hollow when he locked her in that room. The broken bones. The muffled cries in the night.

And worse — the times he told himself it was his right, because she was his wife.

Shame burned his skin. His chest tightened until he could barely breathe. For the first time in his life, Taehyung felt small, rotten, unworthy of the title of man.

He had destroyed her.

The Confrontation

He went to her room that night, his steps heavy, hands trembling. The door creaked open, and there she was — sitting on the bed, knees tucked close, her face pale, eyes lowered as if she expected another blow.

The sight shattered him.

"Y/N..." his voice cracked. "Please... look at me."

She didn't. Her silence cut deeper than any words could.

Taehyung dropped to his knees before her, tears burning his eyes. His hands shook as they hovered near hers, afraid to touch.

"I was wrong," he whispered. "So wrong. You were innocent... and I tortured you. I beat you. I broke you. I..." his voice faltered, the word sticking in his throat, "...raped you. And you endured it all because you wanted to protect a child that wasn't even yours by blood."

Her shoulders trembled. Her eyes stayed on the floor.

Taehyung's tears spilled. "I told myself I was your husband, that it gave me the right. But the truth is... I was a monster. And I can never take back what I did to you. I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I'll beg for it anyway. Please, Y/N... forgive me."

Y/N's Answer

At last, Y/N lifted her gaze. Her eyes were hollow, yet within them flickered something stronger than hate, stronger than fear — exhaustion.

Her lips parted, her voice hoarse, but steady.

"Can I go back to my son... please?"

Taehyung froze.

Not words of forgiveness. Not even words of anger. Just a mother's plea.

Her son. Her Khwaab. The only thing she wanted in this world.

And in that moment, Taehyung realized: no matter how many times he begged, no matter how much he wept, he could never undo the scars he had carved into her life.

All he could do was step aside... and give her back the one thing he had stolen most — her freedom.

The night air in the mansion was still, heavy with secrets that could never be undone.

Taehyung stood in the doorway of Y/N's room, his chest aching, his body trembling. He had begged. He had cried. He had confessed every sin. But her answer had been only one line:

"Can I go back to my son... please?"

Those words rang in his ears like a bell tolling the end.

Y/N stood slowly, her bruised body fragile but her will unshakable. She didn't glance at him as she folded the little clothes she had kept hidden away — Khwaab's tiny shirts, his old blanket, the stuffed rabbit with the drooping ear.

She placed them gently in her bag, each movement deliberate, quiet. She didn't owe anyone explanations.

Taehyung's voice cracked. "Y/N..."

She paused, but didn't look at him.

"I know I don't deserve to ask," he whispered, tears streaking his face, "but will you ever forgive me?"

Her silence was heavier than words. She didn't say yes. She didn't say no.

She just pulled the strap of her bag over her shoulder and walked toward the door.

Letting Go

As she passed him, Taehyung reached out, his hand trembling. For a moment, he wanted to stop her, to fall at her feet again, to beg her not to go. But then he saw it — the fire in her eyes. The quiet strength. The unbreakable bond she had with the son waiting for her across oceans.

And he let his hand fall back to his side.

"You deserve happiness," he whispered, voice breaking. "With him. Not here... not with me."

She didn't reply. She didn't need to.

Because the choice had already been made.

The Departure

At dawn, a car waited outside. Y/N climbed in without a backward glance. The engine roared to life, carrying her toward the airport, toward Khwaab.

Taehyung stood at the gate, watching the taillights disappear into the horizon. His chest felt hollow, his heart in ruins. He had lost her — not because she loved another man, but because he had destroyed every chance she could have ever loved him.

In Canada, a little boy's laughter filled the small apartment.

"Mama!" Khwaab squealed, running into Y/N's arms. She lifted him, tears spilling as his tiny hands cupped her cheeks.

In that moment, every scar, every wound, every night of darkness faded.

Because she was home.
Because she had him.

Her son. Her dream. Her Khwaab.

And as for Taehyung — his chapter with her had ended. Not with love, not with forgiveness. But with silence.

Sometimes silence is the loudest goodbye of all.

The end of this long, heavy journey.

Y/N walked away, Khwaab in her arms, carrying the life she fought to protect. Taehyung, left behind with nothing but guilt, couldn't stop her. And Kittu... well, she got exactly what she deserved. Or maybe not.

But tell me, dear reader — is this really the end?
