The wedding festivities continued, each event a grander spectacle than the last. The house glowed with golden lights, the air filled with music, laughter, and the scent of celebratory meals. Everywhere, there was joy—everywhere except where Y/N stood.

She was there, but she wasn’t part of it.

As the haldi ceremony began, her mother and aunts applied turmeric paste to her brother, laughing and showering him with blessings. The sisters of the groom were traditionally meant to apply the first touch, a moment of honor. But no one called Y/N forward.

Instead, she stood at the back, hands folded, watching as others took her place.

“She doesn’t need to be part of this,” her aunt muttered under her breath, loud enough for the others to hear. “It’s better if someone else does it. It’s not like she brings any good luck.”

A few women nodded in agreement, casting her pitiful glances before moving on as if she wasn’t there at all.

Across the room, the BTS members watched silently.

At first, they hadn’t paid much attention. Weddings were chaotic, traditions varied, and they were outsiders in this culture. But the more they observed, the clearer the pattern became.

Y/N wasn’t just being ignored—she was being erased.

Jimin shifted uncomfortably, his gaze flickering toward Taehyung, who sat in the honored spot beside the groom. He was smiling, laughing, basking in the attention her family showered on him. They treated him as their own, a treasured addition to the family.

But his wife?

She was nothing to them.

Jungkook clenched his jaw when he saw Y/N quietly slip away to fetch something for the guests. She didn’t argue, didn’t complain. It was as if she had accepted this treatment as normal.

And maybe that’s what made it worse.

Because they had encouraged this, hadn’t they?

When Taehyung had started to change in monster—when his words had grown sharper, when his hands had begun to linger in places that left marks—they had looked the other way. They had convinced themselves it wasn’t their place to interfere.

“She must have done something to upset him.”
“It’s their marriage. We shouldn’t get involved.”
“Taehyung knows what he’s doing.”

They had let it happen. They had let it grow.

And now, watching her family treat her like a servant in her own home, they were beginning to realize—this had always been her reality. Even before Taehyung’s cruelty, she had been unseen. Unheard.

As the sangeet night began, another moment of humiliation came.

The family called for a performance—a dance by the sisters of the groom. It was tradition. The music started, the guests clapped, and Y/N, for a fleeting moment, thought maybe they would call her name.

But they didn’t.

Her cousins stepped forward, laughing, twirling, basking in the attention.

“Not her,” her mother said when a distant relative suggested Y/N join. “She’ll ruin the mood.”

Y/N’s hands clenched at her sides, but she said nothing.

She was used to this.

Taehyung, sipping his drink, said nothing either.

And the other BTS members—watching this unfold, seeing the way she swallowed her pain and forced a small smile as if none of this affected her—felt the weight of their own silence pressing down on them.

Because they had done the same thing.

They had let Taehyung push her to the edges of existence. They had let her become invisible.

And now, standing in the midst of her family, they were finally beginning to see just how deep the damage went.

And for the first time, they felt guilty.

Because this wasn’t just Taehyung’s cruelty.

It was theirs too.

For never stopping him.

For never standing up for her.

For letting her suffer alone.

And it was too late to take it back.

But was it too late to change?
