Chapter 3
Tegean's POV
I look on as they roll her away I can see her parents catching up with her, and crying for fear that they might lose her.
I can't believe that just happened I think to myself.
as I'm about to leave the sceen I catch a glimpse of the girl that ran after her.
She smiles at me and mouth's thank you then she hands off the sleeping baby in her arms to an older lady and walks off.
I need some air I think to myself.
I take the elevator to the top floor and walk the rest up to the roof I open the door and the wind smacks me dead in the face.
I walk over to my spot and look out to the city and breath I pull out my ipod and just as I'm about to press play to a song the door swings open and I look back.
It's a girl she walks forward and looks pissed I smile and say hello she steps forward again its the girl from earlier
"What are you doing" she ask somewhat sarcastically
my smile dissolves and I feel a bit insulted
"Well it seems to me that I'm sitting on a roof your go"
I reply back with the same level of sarcasm.
"This is my spot of relief" she answers
her voice shaky. She then goes and sits down about 3ft away for me
"I'm Tegean" I say
"Briland" she retorts
Not a minute of silence can get between us before she comes at me again
"Not to sound rude or anything but sorry to break it to you Tegean, I'm kinda not in the mood for talking"
"That's okay I don't wanna talk either" I respond
Once again I'm about start my music when she looks up and stares at me
"I'm sorry" she says
"That was rude, its just that my best friend is in the hospital and I have stage four leukemia... thanks for helping earlier"
she cracks a smile
"Anytime and apology excepted" I smile back
"I gotta go" she says
"Nice meeting you Tegean"
she does a cortsy and leaves I sit and think about the girl from earlier and how even in her darkest time she was beautiful.
