Chapter 1 Briland's POV
"Okay last one, annnnnd there, all done"
"Thanks Trudy" I say with a smile.
I watch her carefully put away the needles and sernge, she looks over and smiles at me.
As she chews on her gum she looks up and folds her hands together and leans in toward me.
"You know you're my favorite right"
I lean in with her and stare into her big pale grey eyes
"Mmhm suuure Trudy of course I am"
I grin.
she stands up and chuckles
"You know it's true don't deny it".
I sit up and smirk at her raising an eyebrow
"what ever keeps your boat afloat".
She then turns to leave.
"Shall I let them in" she asked
"But of course" I say smiling.
I look at my hands then instantly look up and see my bestie and mom at the door Leah smiles at me and waltz in
"Halo" she says as she plops down next to me
"Sooooo" she begins
"How'd it go?"
"Not sure" I reply.
My mom stares at me and smiles
"You'll be fine baby you always are" my mother tries to assure me.
I smile at my mom and Leah and think about what happened this morning how weak I felt how flushed my face was but I smile
I smile because I don't want them to worry.
My mother looks down at her phone as it vibrates its my dad she looks up and I look at her.
"Go ahead we'll be fine" I tell her
My mother gets up leaves and a minute later the doctor comes in
"Mrs.Burchest?" A man in a white coat called
"She just walked out can you just tell me please" I offered him a kind smile
"Um well I suppose... It seems as though the pet scan didn't go quite as we planned..."
"What do mean Dr.Doyd" I said inquisitively
"I'm sorry to say Briland but you have stage four leukaemia, I'm sorry"
he offered me an empathetic touch to the shoulder
"Thank you" I said looking straight ahead.
"We'll be in with more information in a minute or two"
he spoke as he turned to leave.
The doctor leaves the room and I turn to Leah who is clinching her chest gasping for air
"Oh my god" I exclaim
"Somebody help please....breath Leah look at me breath".
