Chapter 19 Briland's POV

We pull up to grubs burger shack parking lot I unbuckle my seatbelt in excitement and open the door stepping out quickly

"Happy much" a familiar voice calls from behind

"I am actually" I simply state.

"Aren't you" I ask

He lets out a puff of air and shakes his head before intertwining his fingers in with mine

"You're such a child bri" He says

I swing our arms and say

"I know"

"Like to see how child like I can be?" I whisper

Brooks raises a familiar brow

"Thought so lets race" I say taking off and he starts running behind me

"Loser buys desert" he says

I laugh running our friends are cheering us on in the back girls for me and boys for him sexist I'd say but whatever.

Brooks catches up to me and give me a soft nudge which I exaggerate and fall onto the ground causing silence

"I'm okay" I yell

Brooks stops and extends his hand to me

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to push you that hard, I should just stop pushing you" he says exasperated

I clasp his hand in mine and tug hard on his arm causing him to fall I release my grasp and make a run for it.

"Briland!" I hear him call after me

Everyone cheers me on including the boys and I run till I reach the brick wall.

Brooks finally catches up to me and smiles

"I hate you" he says

"Yeah, yeah sore loser" I respond

Come on you two the others holler as we all walk into the shack,

"If I ever die have the chef come to my funeral" Ambreèlla says

I laugh but nodd in agreement.

"This is my favorite place" I smile

We walk to the register and ask if 6 seats were available and were shown a table.

All of us hanged off one another's shoulders as we walked to our designated seats

"So what you wanna show us"

I ask Tegean reminding him of his earlier remark.

"I intend on showing you guys but if I can recall correctly I said after we eat yeah" he says sarcastically

"yeah" I say sneering my nose at him

It's amazing how we all have gotten so close. How we all act as if we known one another for a thousand years but truthfully we've only just met a day ago.

Our waiter comes to our table, a tall famished looking man looks at us all inspecting our every move with his sad tired eyes

"How are you all doing today" the old man ask

"Great" we all reply.

The old man smiles and takes all of our orders down and says he'll be back shortly with our dishes

We had to order breakfast because of how early of the day it was but we didn't mind we all seemed happy but not everything is what it seems.

"Listen up guy's, I have some news to tell you all if were all gonna try to be close we need to know about each others health"

I grab all of there attention with my words and they all listen in and grow quite

"Good" I say

"Now that I have you all's attention I have some information"

I take a deep breath and speak

"Recently I found out that I have stage 4 leukemia"

Everyone looks around as if contemplating what to say

Amber breaks some of the tension by telling us her own problem though

"Since we're telling are issues my doctor put me on a higher dosage of medication to reduce my seizures"

We all look to Amber and she smiles

"But I'm associated to pretty kick ass people some I'm good"

We all start laughing and Tegean checks the time

"We have twenty-five minutes left guys and I got something to show you remember"

We pay our tabs an leave the restaurant

"Where are we going" Ashton ask

"You'll see" Tegean replies as he hops in his car and starts his engine

"Let's roll" Leah shouts.

I get in the front seat and look at Brooks as he stares back at me

"I'll drive" I say he sighs and gets in the passenger side

"What you don't trust me"

I laugh starting the engine and pulling out

"Of course I do" he says I smile and press on the pedal and speed up

"BRI"

"Uh live a little I'm dying" I say

He looks at me wide eyed then puts down the roof.

After a few minutes of driving Tegean comes to a halt and I finally focus on what lies in front of me

"Whoa" I say.
