Chapter 33

Alicia POV:

I paced back and forth trying to figure out what to do so he wouldn't find me. I know Ray too well. He would do whatever to find me.

I pulled my hair in frustration I'm scared for my life I don't feel safe anymore. I thought I would never run into him again when I seen his face it felt like I seen a ghost.

I heard a knock at the door I jumped it was a male voice.

"ALICIA!" It was my dad I was so relieved.

"Yes?" I answered.

"Come out I want to talk to you" He said.

I walked out of my bedroom and into the hallway where my father stood.

"What is it dad?" I asked.

"How did the job search go today?" He asked me raising one eyebrow.

"Uhhh I filled out a few applications at the mall" I lied.

"Great I really want you to get a job you cant be living in my house forever." He said.

He was right but I wasn't ready to move out and make my own money.

I'm too spoiled my dad has been buying me expensive clothes shoes and anything else I wanted. But every since he's been out of work he struggled.

He worked at a factory making 20$ an hour but he never told us the name of the place only my mom knew the name of it. My father still give us what we need but not as much as he use too.

" I know daddy I'm trying its not as easy as you think" I said looking in his eyes.

"I know its not easy but you got to try a little harder. partying all the time and going out with your friend is not going to help you in the future!" He said to me looking down at me pointing in my face.

He's always been overprotective. "I hear you Im just tired of you always getting on me about this every day!" I yelled at him.

"Don't raise your voice at me I'm just trying to tell you it's time to grow up you're 19!" He said.

"I'll make sure I find me a job so I can get the hell out of here!!" I said walking past him.

"Alicia! Come back here I'm not finished talking to you!" He yelled but I kept going.

I went outside went to my car and slammed the door. I was so tired of going through this shit about me moving out and getting myself together.

I just wanted to leave this house I didn't wanna be here I was so stressed out. I decided to call my best friend Nique and ask if I could stay at her crib for the rest of the night.

Ashanti POV :

We pulled up at my house I was so happy and felt good about me and Chris spending time together and talking about old times.

"I had a good time tonight Chris." I said looking over at him.

"Me too baby it was great I want to have more dates like this instead of arguing all the time" he said to me grabbing my hand.

I really love Chris he's my first love I never can be mad at him for too long.

"We will just promise me that you're going to try to do right do something with your life instead of being in these streets." I demanded.

"I hear you but I can't promise you baby it takes time" he looked at me.

I gave him the death stare and sighed. "Ok goodnight Chris love you" I said.

"I love you too baby" he said smiling giving me a kiss on the cheek. I went to the door at the house I looked in my pocketbook for the house key.

I went into the house it was dark so I thought I could just sneak in without waking anybody up.

I walked in my house and I turned on the light so I could see I took off my shoes and I put them in my hand so I can carry them. I walked up stairs going to my room and I heard somebody calling my name.

Alicia POV:

I drove up the street just to get away from my crib I didn't even wanna be there anymore. My parents been bugging me every since I got out of high school they kept pushing me to go off to college but I didn't want to leave. I got out my phone and dialed Nique's number and waited for her to answer.

"Hello" Nique answered.

"What's up girl?" I asked her.

"Nothing what's up with you?" She said.

"Can I stay at your crib tonight please?" I plead.

"Yea sure just let me know when you're outside" she told me.

"Ok thanks" I said hanging up the phone.

I drove to Nique's house a couple blocks up the street I looked in my review mirror it was a black bmw behind me they have been following me for 5 mins straight I was starting to get nervous.

I sped up my car going 65 so the car couldn't keep up with me then I took the shortcut to Nique's house when I seen the car out of sight I slowed down a little and turned down the road where Nique's house was.

I blew the horn to let her know I was outside I waited until she opened the front door and I got out the car when I seen her open the door. "Girl what's up!?"

She said reaching out to give me a hug. "Nothing just got a lot on my mind." I said looking down.

"Come in the house so we can talk" waving her hand for me to come in.

We walked in her house up to her room we started talking about everything.
