Chpt 14: Day of reckoning

Mothra had found the island, which was very large, surprisingly - being in the cluster of islands between Australia and Europe - it was also fairly hot and tropical. Already, from her POV, she saw multiple large Kamacuras trudging along, felling trees they must've manually planted and grown, using their claws. Battra was sensed somewhere, but she wouldn't be pinpointed unless they were within attack range, and if the latter caught wind of the former first, Mothra could be shot from the sky and potentially killed. She sighed, as her work was cut out. Flying just close enough above the island, Mothra began scanning it for any evidence and waited to detect the presence of Battra.

Gojiran was in pursuit of Mothra. She wasn't close, but she was gaining on her spouse. She was concerned, that she'd chased her partner away, but also that she was going into this half-thought-out, and acting on emotion.

   Coming up onto the shore of the island, she looked around, seeing nothing immediately, but soon saw the burns and remnants of a clash, then finally a Kaiju Girl lying down in some dirt.

"Hey," Gojiran said, coming up to the girl, who ignored her, still sleeping. "Hey," She was a bit louder, to the same dismissive response. Crouching, Gojiran poked the cheek of the saurian woman, who slapped the former's hand, and growled in annoyance as she opened her eyes, then kangaroo-kicked her away, knocking the wind out of Gojiran. Tumbling, she was caught off guard by the strength, and groaned as she clutched the place of the strike as she saw Goros standing up, with crossed arms, looking annoyed.
   "I heard you the first time," She said, grumpy from being disturbed. "Don't poke the beast, especially while she's sleeping," Gojiran growled as she got up, but calmed down.
   "Noted. I don't have time to fight you, nor do I want to. Have you noticed a moth flying by?"
   "Mmm. I heard her wings faintly flapping, but I didn't put focus on her," Goros said calmly, uncrossing her arms as her expression softened. "Why are you looking for her?"
   "She's my partner-"
   "Oh, good for you."
   "... She came here looking for her sister, Battra. She's a threat, who hopes to drain the life force to fuel herself to full strength to wipe out humanity." Gojiran said, and Goros processed the words, then went deadpan when the name clicked.
   "Oh... Oh, shit!" Goros clenched her mohawk, digging her fingers through the hair as concern and realization washed over her face. "That... that explains so much..."
"What?" Gojiran said, worry in her voice.
"Kamacuras have been going missing, and have been found dead later on across the island. They came to me, talking about the threat; believing it to be the Spiga; Kumonga, but she's still in hibernation. That little bitch!" Goros turned around and stomped in a seemingly random direction, as she sniffed the air.
"You met Battra, and she didn't attack you?" Gojiran said, running up beside Goros.
"No, she and I worked together to deal with a metal chicken lady," Goros said bluntly, sniffing the air and changing direction.
"Gigan," Gojiran muttered.
"Yeah, her," Goros said, stopping her walk, and breathing in deep.
"What are you doing?"
"Tryna sniff that bitch out," Goros said, holding her breath for a bit, before beginning to tunnel with shocking speed. Gojiran was caught off guard by another burrowing Kaiju, especially one as efficient as Anguira. Goros swam through the earth, leaving a crack signaling her location being seen. Gojiran tried following but was being left behind, though she was ready for a confrontation.

Battra sucked another Kamacuras of her life, before running as several others came running at her, claws raised. She could tear them apart, but she wanted to save her energy. Still, she fired a blast of horn lightning to deter them, chuckling darkly.
   "Oh, don't fret," She said, nearing her burrow. "Soon, I'll leave this island behind, and your sacrifices will be rewarded beautifully."
