Derek's POV
Me and Adrian went to sleep more comfortably than we have ever gone to sleep before. We have a king bed to share, instead of a twin bed. Don't get me wrong, the bed we share at the dorms aren't bad, but this is just so much better. I have to admit, despite it being very comfortable, I still woke up a few times during the night. I think it's just something about not sleeping in the same bed as I usually do that messes with the way that I sleep.
By the time it was around 4 AM, I just couldn't go back to sleep, since it felt like 7 AM so I just waited for Adrian to wake up, which didn't take long. He woke up at about 5 AM.
"Good morning," Adrian says, yawning.
"Good morning."
"It's so dark," he notices, looking outside.
"Yeah."
"What time is it?"
"It's like 5 AM," I tell him.
"Ughhh," he groans, pulling the blanket over his face. "I hate time changes."
"Yeah. But I can't go back to sleep."
"Same."
We stare at each other for a moment, smiling because we know we can just stare at each other without it being weird.
"What should we do?" Adrian asks.
"I don't know. I kinda just wanna stay here and watch some TV with my favorite person in the world."
"Smooth, very smooth," Adrian laughs, reaching to the bedside table next to him and grabbing a remote and turning on the TV.
"What would be on right now?" I ask.
"Well, it's like 11 on the East, so there's gotta be something decent on right now."
Adrian finds some random Marvel movie. I didn't really pay a ton of attention to it because I couldn't care less what was playing on the TV. The only thing I care about is the boy lying down next to me.
"I love you," I tell him.
"I love you too," he says, looking at me now.
He kisses me on the cheek and I return the kiss, but on his temple.
We stay awake until the morning, practically ignoring the movie and just ogling each other instead. I love it. I love getting to stare at a fine ass guy without it being weird, and I love being looked at the way he looks at me.
"Let's get breakfast, I'm starving," Adrian says, finally getting out of bed.
"Is there breakfast here?" I ask.
He nods. "Yeah. There's a cafe downstairs, there's some pretty good stuff."
"Okay. Let me shower first."
"Alright."
I shower quickly and Adrian showers after me. Once he's done, we head downstairs to get food. Hopefully I'll meet more of his family today. It's been all very positive so far, and I hope that continues.
Once we get to the cafe, we order ourselves food and sit down.
"What's up Adrian?" a tall guy asks, walking up to greet Adrian.
"Hey Nolan," Adrian smiles. "Derek, this is my cousin, Nolan."
"Nice to meet you, Derek. We're planning on playing football today if you guys are down," Nolan states.
"Yeah, we'd be happy to. Can we be on the same team?" Adrian asks.
"No, are you serious?" Nolan laughs. "You're both D1 and we're all bums."
