Born with a gift nobody has ever received, Anna has lived a long but short life. One that gets so much more interesting when the heart of the truest believer comes into her life.

The sunshine through the window of my room wakes me up naturally. It's 6:30 am and the dinner should be open for some breakfast. A text on my phone from Granny says that when I wake to come down and fill my belly before starting my first shift. I have no complaints, I get myself out of bed and ready for the day.
I grab out some clothes we got yesterday, deciding that light jeans, white shoes and a white button up shirt would do well for today. I had Regina get me some plain things based on what I've seen Ruby wear in the diner. The shirt, of course, is sporting a Peter Pan collar and a fun tie at the belly button. It's more of a tank top as well. For the my hair I decided on a side bun and a cut red headband to keep the fly away hairs out of my face.

Once I'm out the door and in the diner Granny greets me with a big stack of pancakes ready for me to devour.
"Ruby is gonna show you the ropes today. When you're done with the food, just wash all that and start following her around. If you feel comfortable enough starting on your own, just let me know and I'll give you a pen and notepad. If you figure waiting tables isn't your thing then we can see about putting you in the kitchen. Here is this." She glides an apron over the counter as well.
"Thanks Granny." I give her a smile before diving in. Once done I take care of my dishes and put them back in line of use before shadowing Ruby around. She shows me how to write down orders in a way that it won't take to long. Meaning for pancakes I could write Pan and specify what they would like with it like Choco for chocolate chip pancakes and so on and so fourth. I guess her and the cook sat down one day and came up with it and it stuck. She then shows me how to clean up a table and set it up for the next customer, make coffee in the coffee maker and how to handle the money.
By the end of my shift I waited four tables at the same time while Ruby took the rest. Granny fed me lunch at the end of my shift and before I could head back to my room to set up my closet, the blue fairy walks in with Tink.
"Hey guys, what's up?" I greet them. Mother superior has a sour looking face at the moment while Tink is wide eyed and grinning.
"I was asked to a-sign people to certain children as case workers and Tink here requested you. Claims since she knows you from the island that it would be best to be your case worker because you two are already close. I can't argue with the logic though something tells me not to allow this; I'm willing to overlook my own feelings and give Tink the chance she deserves as she got her wings back."
"What's a case worker?"
"Somebody who will over look and direct your transition into the home...or whatever you call the situation you put yourself in." She sighs. "She's going to go over some things with you. Good day." She turns and heads out the diner while Tink takes a seat next to me.
"She's just chipper." Tink rolls her eyes. "Looks like you've been keeping up the bargain with Granny." She smiles, taking a seat at one of the bar stools.
