As soon as he ended the call, his fingers were already dialing another number. This time, it took only one ring before the call was answered.
"Anubhav? Kya hua?" Noor Jahan Malik's voice carried immediate concern.
He took a shaky breath before speaking. "Ammi... yahan aaiye... mujhe aapki bohot zaroorat hai..."
A sharp intake of breath came from the other end. "Kya hua beta? Kahan aana hai? Kidhar ho aap? Jaldi bataiye, humara jee ghabra raha hai. Haseena aur Karishma toh thik hai na?"
Anubhav shut his eyes tightly, struggling to keep his emotions in check. His voice wavered as he forced the words out. "Karu... wo... uski tabiyat thik nahi hai. Aap please jaldi Hope—Children's Hospital aa jaiye."
There was no hesitation in her response. "Abhi aayi beta."
The call ended, and Anubhav let out a shaky breath. For a moment, he just sat there, staring blankly at the floor, trying to compose himself. But when he lifted his gaze, he froze.
That's when he saw her.
Haseena.
Crying.
Not just silent tears slipping down her face—this was something far worse. Uncontrollable, gut-wrenching sobs shook her entire body. She sat hunched over, her face buried in her hands, shoulders trembling violently.
For a moment, he simply stood there, watching her. Watching the woman he had once trusted more than anyone else in this world... completely break down.
His heart clenched painfully.
Despite everything—despite the betrayal, despite the anger, despite the hurt—he still couldn't bear to see her like this.
Silently, he walked forward and sank into the seat beside her.
The others followed, sitting down around them, the suffocating weight of guilt pressing down on their shoulders.
Shivani reached out, gently rubbing Haseena's back in an attempt to comfort her, but she too was crying. The air in the waiting room was thick with regret, sorrow, and unspoken words—words they all wished they had said before it was too late.
Cheetah wiped his face, his usual playful demeanor nowhere in sight. "Anubhav... humein maaf kar de..." His voice was thick with remorse. "Hum... humse bahot badi galti ho gayi..."
Amar, Santu, and Shivani also muttered their apologies, their voices trembling.
But Anubhav didn't respond.
He just sat there, staring at nothing.
Haseena finally turned to him, her eyes swollen and red. Through her sobs, she tried to speak. "Anubhav... main jaanti hoon... jo maine kiya... jo hum sabne kiya... uski maafi... uski koi maafi nahi ho sakti..."
He still didn't react.
She let out a broken breath, gripping his hand. "Lekin main apni galti sudharna chahti hoon, Anubhav... main apni jaan laga dungi Karu ko theek karne ke liye... main apna 101% dungi..." Her voice cracked as more tears spilled down her cheeks. "Bas ek mauka aur de do..."
For the first time since she had started speaking, Anubhav turned toward her.
And when he spoke, his voice was eerily calm—almost too calm.
"Hume bhagwan ne already bahot chances de diye hain, Haseena." His eyes burned with pain as he looked at her.
Haseena's breath hitched.
