Author's Pov:
Anu sat on the edge of her bed, fingers twisting in the folds of her saree as memories surged forward, unbidden and unwelcome. Thinking about how her past had a way of creeping into her life again when she least expected it. These last few months have surely been a rollercoaster, slowly memories of the past came rushing back, drowning her in the moments she had tried so hard to forget.
It hadn't started with love. It hadn't even started with choice.
Vikram had forced his way into her life like a storm, unrelenting and destructive.
After that kiss on the ground, after making it clear to everyone that she was his, he hadn't stopped. He never gave her space to breathe, never gave her a moment to reclaim herself. He was always there—watching, waiting, controlling.
She tried to fight him. She tried to push him away. She tried to raise a complaint but Vikram had a way of making sure she understood that there was no escape.
The first time she defied him, refusing to meet him after class, he had cornered her in the empty hallway, his eyes dark with something she didn't yet understand.
"You don't get to ignore me, love," he had whispered, his fingers tracing down her arm, sending a shudder through her. "You belong to me. Why are you still fighting?"
She had tried to pull away, but he had grabbed her wrist, pulling her flush against his chest. His scent, his warmth—it suffocated her, overwhelmed her.
"I will never be yours," she had spat, her voice trembling with defiance.
His lips had curled into a smirk before he leaned in, his breath ghosting over her skin. "Oh, love," he murmured. "You already are."
He started by taking away her choices. Not that day, but slowly, deliberately, breaking her piece by piece. It was beyond her imagination how he was that strong for his age or maybe she was weak!
She wasn't allowed to talk to other guys in her school. She wasn't allowed to leave school without his permission. If she tried, he always found her, always pulled her back, reminding her with bruising kisses, with hands that roamed too freely, with whispered threats that curled around her throat like a noose.

As the next year of school started he got graduated. After all he was her senior, she didn't see him after that yet she feared of crossing paths with him again. People at school still fear coming near her. Gradually she let her guard down thinking he left her for good. He never met her as he promised before leaving. He never once tried to meet her which she was thankful for. After entering the college, she was sure she would never see him again in her life, but who she was kidding he was there already, not giving her a minute to breathe. She couldn't believe how in the universe she chose the same college as him, though they both were in different departments, still something kept her on edge.
She had spent the first year trying to avoid Vikram, keeping her head down, never meeting his gaze, hoping—praying—that his interest would fade and for some reason it worked he never tried to contact her. Though she could feel his gaze on her, she was thankful he was not forcing his presence.
