I thought of surprising you all with an early update but ended up getting a surprise from you all.

Very much disappointed with the response guys.

I published the chapters as early as possible but after updating it regularly you guys are barely acknowledging it.

Your comments are the ones giving me some energy and now it's all gone. I'm barely getting any comments. That's very unfair.

I'm publishing my book for free, yet no one seems to care. I'm really disappointed with you all🥺😭

If you guys want a regular update then please do engage. I'm requesting all of my loyal and lovely readers.

Author's Pov:

Anu's breath came in shallow gasps as Vikram's grip on her waist tightened. The air around them felt suffocating, charged with a dark energy she had learned to dread. The private lounge was empty except for them, yet she felt exposed, like prey cornered by its hunter.

Vikram's fingers trailed up her spine, slow, deliberate. "I'll ask you again," he murmured, his voice deceptively calm. "Who. Is. He?"

Anu clenched her jaw, refusing to meet his gaze. If she knew, Vikram would never let it go. How can she tell him about him? That she knew him since their college days. He would tear through her past, rip apart whatever fragile walls she had built to keep herself sane.

"I don't know," she whispered, but the slight tremor in her voice betrayed her.

Vikram exhaled sharply, his patience thinning. "You really think you can lie to me?" His hand slid up to her neck, not squeezing, but firm enough to remind her of the power he held over her. "You saw him. You reacted. Again." He tilted his head, studying her with predatory amusement. "And now you're trying to hide it. Again"

Anu swallowed hard. "I don't know him," she repeated, stronger this time.

Vikram's smirk disappeared. His fingers dug into her skin, enough to make her wince. "Liar." His voice was ice. "Do you forget who I am, love?" He leaned in, his breath hot against her ear. "I know every inch of you. Every shiver, every hesitation." He pulled back, his gaze sharp and calculating. "And I know when you're hiding something."

She forced herself to stay still, to not tremble under his scrutiny. But the fury in his eyes was growing, a storm waiting to break.

"You think you can keep secrets from me?" he hissed, his grip tightening before he abruptly let go, shoving her back a step. "I don't know how many I have to tell you this. You're mine, Anu. So I do fucking care what he did to you and how you met him. And do you even have the slightest idea of how my heart bleeds seeing you reacting to someone apart from me. Just put this through your mind_" gritting his teeth he jabbed his finger on her forehead "Every thought, every breath—you belong to me."

Anu's heart pounded, but she didn't speak. She couldn't. No matter what Vikram did, no matter how much he pushed, she wouldn't give him what he wanted.

The silence between them was deafening.

Vikram exhaled, his smirk returning, but this time it was darker. More dangerous. "Fine," he drawled, rolling up his sleeves as if shaking off his frustration. "If you won't tell me..." He took a step closer, forcing her back until her spine hit the wall. His fingers traced the column of her throat before gripping her chin, forcing her to look at him. "I'll find out myself."
