The employee glanced at the clock. It was already 9:00 pm, and kids were still in the restaurant. She tapped her fingers on the counter, wrapping her golden hair around a finger on her other hand. She leaned back against the wall and sighed. Her emerald eyes scanned the party room.

A bunny animatronic, a bear animatronic, and a chicken animatronic danced and sang up on on stage for the children's entertainment. Another animatronic, a fox, lay on the floor a few feet away, broken into bits. A large box sat in a far corner, surrounded by figurines, plushies, and drawings. A little boy-looking thing smiled and held balloons. She herself didn't see how kids could find something so silly, so weird, to be fun, but, then again, she wasn't a kid anymore.

"AMANDA!" the manager barked from behind her, making the girl snap to attention. "STOP THAT SLACKING AND KEEP AN EYE ON THE CASH REGISTER!"

"Y-Yes sir!" Amanda stuttered, her heart pounding in her chest. Good god, that manager really makes me skittish.

Amanda stepped up to the cash register, pressed a button, and stared at the money. The root of all evil, she thought. She took out a handful and started counting it, since she had nothing else to do.

Hmm.. 83 dollars... not too shabby. Amanda put the money back into the cash register and shut the drawer. She yawned and could feel herself begin to doze off. A deep, mechanical voice kept her from doing that.

"Ok kids, it's time for us to go now!" the bear said. Amanda had never taken the time to learn his name, nor was she interested.

The kids groaned, cried, and begged for them not to go. The bear, bunny, and chicken filed off of the stage while the kid's parents grabbed them by their hands and led them outside into the dark. Amanda watched as cars drove out of the parking lot and away from the restaurant. She smiled and waved at a little boy who was staring at her as he left, like she'd been instructed to do.

Eventually, the room emptied of all human life. Sighing, Amanda walked into the back room where her things were.

Amanda took her white jacket off of the coat rack and slipped it on, flipping her hair over her shoulder. She slipped her black purse over her shoulder and walked out of the back room.

Amanda stood in the middle of the party room, looking at all the stupid kiddy decorations.

"Tch," she muttered, turning and walking over to the door, the soles of her sneakers squeaking against the tile floor. She reached for the door handle and was about to pull the door open when she heard a door open. She froze.

Amanda's hand dropped back to her side as she hesitantly turned around.

Was that... the manager? Amanda wondered. It had to be. Who else would it be? Unless it was... Her eyes widened. Robbers?!

She shook her head and smirked. Nah. But, you can never be too safe. Amanda reached into her bag and pulled out her pocket knife. As if it would do much damage.

Amanda quietly tiptoed towards the area the sound came from. The storage room.

She peered around the corner and felt all the blood drain from her face.

"Wh...What the... heck...?"
