"I still remember your first business party. You were so nervous," Aashika said with a laugh as I stood in front of the mirror, finishing my makeup.

I rolled my eyes. "I hate that you're too busy with your date to come to this one."

"You know I don't enjoy these fancy gatherings," she replied, lounging on my bed. "Isn't it better that I spend my evening with my fiancé instead of standing awkwardly on a dance floor doing nothing?"

I laughed at the irony. "That same dance floor gave you the best fiancé."

I clearly remembered the night she met Aadvik. Back then, I didn't know what kind of person he was. I had my doubts. I was insecure-he was too calm, too perfect. But with time, he earned my trust, and that's what I love the most about him. He didn't rush it; he made the effort.

Aashika laughed too, but then there was a pause. The room suddenly went quiet. She broke the silence, nervously playing with her engagement ring.

"Do you think we're ready to get married?"

I looked at her. "I don't know, Aashika. But you love him, and he loves you. That much is clear."

She sighed. "But what if love isn't enough? We're so different. What if things go wrong?"

I smiled. "And you still have time to figure it all out. No one is rushing you. Just spend time with him. Understand each other better. And hey, even if you cheat, I'll be on your side," I joked, trying to lighten the mood.

She gasped and threw a pillow at me. "I would *never* do that! You know me better than that."

"Of course, silly," I said, hugging her. "No one loves the way you do."

After our little chat, I finished getting ready, and Aashika helped me with my hair. She was really good at it-better than any stylist. I looked at myself in the mirror and took a deep breath. Another business party. Another evening of fake smiles and small talk. But this one was different. This time, Vihaan would be there.

Even though my company was cleared of all charges in the Khurana case, my reputation had taken a hit. People whispered, judged, doubted me. This party was my chance to change that. It was my moment to take back control.

Tonight, I will announce my solo project-the same one Vihaan and I once worked on together before he broke my trust. Before he made me hate him again.

I had spent months rebuilding everything he tried to take from me. I turned my pain into focus, my anger into strength. I didn't need him anymore. And tonight, I'd prove it-not just to the people in the room, but to myself too.
