"I'm begging you James please keep this to yourself. If anyone knew that you knew who I really was they would hunt you down and torture you, do you understand. I can't have one of my friends dead because of me." Valetina told the therapist.
"Valetina..." the assassin breathed a sigh of relief as her old friend called her this, "I won't mention this to anyone. But I have a feeling that my silence won't make a difference. The world will find out eventually, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it." James O'Brian placed a reassuring hand on the girls shoulder.

"I know but when they do I know I will have more enemies than friends. I will see you soon."

Valetina left the room to find only Roxy and Sherlock waiting for her, before she could ask where Mary and John were, Sherlock spoke.
His face was calm, "Mary has gone into labour." Valetina wondered how he could be so calm about this.
Valetina's face broke into a smile. "This is great news. We must be there when she gives birth to her little daughter."

Roxy was on the phone, listening to John's frantic voice. "John calms yourself; for goodness sake you're a doctor." Whilst Roxy was on the phone, Valetina Swansea saw this as a good time to tell Sherlock what James said.
"Sherlock James knows my name-my real name."
"Good, one less problem to think about, if he knows who you really are we don't need to persuade him to help us. He was your friend Valetina, he wouldn't betray you."

"Yes, but Sherlock I will have more enemies than friends if people find out that I'm your-"Valetina couldn't finish her sentence as her best friend ran up to the pair and laughed.
"Mary has given birth to a healthy girl. John wants us to visit them as soon as we can; they still have to agree on a name."
"They better not call her Molly or I'm going to be very disappointed." Sherlock muttered.

"Why? What's wrong with Molly?" Valetina asked, she thought the name was pretty.
"It doesn't seem right to me, it wouldn't fit my god-daughter. It's not special enough." Sherlock admitted.
"Really so what name would you suggest the girl to be called Sherlock, and please don't say a criminal's name." The assassin raised an eyebrow and folded her arms.

"Delphine Watson has a nice ring to it don't you think. It's unusual and it means dolphin which are intelligent creatures as will the child."
Valetina couldn't argue with the beauty of the name, it was sweet and cute. "Delphine does sound perfect for the doctor and the ex-assassin." The trio quickly left the office building and caught a cab to the hospital.

Sherlock was the first in the room. John was holding a bundle of pink blankets in his arms.
"You finally made it, I see, well would you like to hold her?" John asked his best-friend. Sherlock however held up his hands and refused.
"Could I hold her please?" Valetina asked.

John stared at her for a moment debating whether she could be trusted to hold the most precious thing in his life. Before he could say anything the assassin spoke.
"John you can trust me."
The doctor looked at his wife for guidance, Mary smiled and said "I trust her and you should too. She is loyal to her friends."

John Watson signed and gently handed the baby to the dark haired woman. "You don't need to fear me John; I would never hurt an innocent child."
Valetina moved the blanket of the baby's face, and smiled. "She is gorgeous, Mary. What's her name?"

"Well we discussed this for weeks now and it's between Sherlock's suggestion of Delphine and our choice of Elizabeth. And we have described to call her Delphine Bethany Watson." Mary replied her blonde hair plastered to her face.

"That's perfect, Sherlock are you smiling." Valetina accused, though as soon as she had said this, the detective frowned again.
"I agree with Delphine's name." He said simply.
The baby gurgled and everyone in the room cooed 'aww'. Sherlock even seemed happy with the emotions in the room.

"Sherlock you know you're the god-father we told you this ages ago, but Mary though our daughter should also have a god-mother. I was against this but now I can see why she choice her." John moved towards the assassin. "Valetina would you be Delphine's god-mother?"

Valetina looked at the parents her mouth agape; her eyes were wide in shock. "Me? I would love too."
Roxy hit her forehead, "Well at least Delphine will never be bullied, with a sociopath for an uncle, a murderer for an aunt, an assassin for a mother and a crazy doctor for a father I think they would be too scared too."
"I will have to make the world safe for my god-daughter." Valetina said to herself. I just hope I see her grow up. She is the most important thing to me now. I must look after her because she will be the closest thing I'll get to having a daughter.

"Valetina can I talk to you outside for a moment, you too Roxy." Sherlock stepped out of the room, followed by the two females.
"Val, I don't think you being the god-mother is a good idea."
"And why is that." Valetina glared at the detective, she didn't know why the man didn't want her to be happy.
"I think you know why, you just don't want to say it." Sherlock said kindly, Valetina signed. She did know. If she got too attached to her friend's child, Delphine could be used against her and make her unreliable to-do a job.

"I don't care she's worth the risk, Sherlock you know it's highly unlikely I can have kids so please let me love Delphine like an aunt should." Valetina had tears running down her cheeks, Roxy who had remained silent for the whole conversation hugged her heart-broken friend.

"Val, you have friends and family who love you, I know you will be a great mum, miracles do happen don't believe that you'll never to a mom- sorry it's the American in me I mean –mum."

"Thanks, Roxy you are a great friend. You two are the only ones I trust with this but James O'Brian remembers me and knows about the torture in Russia. By the way, Sherlock he's really angry at you for not saving me." Valetina brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

-The detective vs. The Assassin-

Mary was allowed home in the next couple of hours, all they decided to go back to Sherlock's apartment and discuss what the therapist said. Mrs Hudson was cooing over the new-born baby.
"She'll be just like her mummy and daddy, Smart and brave." The landlady noticed, Delphine had no-hair on her head but she did have the brightest blue eyes. They held so-much intelligence and knowledge.

Valetina told her friends everything the therapist said except the part about him knowing about her name. After she had finished John and Mary said how sorry they were for her. Sherlock quickly changed the subject.

"John, Mary I want you to know that Delphine will have the best education and protection, I can reassure you Mycroft will make sure she is safe at all times and I think Val will do the same."

"Yeah, if she's in trouble and you need me and I'm on a mission call anyway because I will come running to save my god-daughter."
"Good but promise me that you won't be showing any crime scene photos or corpse when she's old enough, Sherlock. "John pointed threateningly at the detective who just shacked his head.

They continued talking about the child future and what she would be like when she would get to a teenager. Valetina hoped she wouldn't turn out like herself, a murderer working for the world's government. Not loyal to any country.
